The Leafs suck 6 on 5 and 5 on 6 this year

I don't understand the dump ins with no speed to get the puck. Why are we sacrificing puck possession with the net empty
 
Washington really pushes the limit on line changes. Guys are getting involved in the play (not playing the puck but committing neutral zone interference) long be for the guy gets off the ice
 
The schedule really isn't doing any favours for the Leafs.

Murray is doing what is pretty much expected. It's going to take some games to get back his timing.

Missing their top goal scorer, on a back to back against a rested Capitals who are first overall in the East.
 
Decent game overall. Gotta score more than 2 goals though. PP could have been really helpful but that seems to be too much to ask for.

I get that Russians can't oppose Putin directly without paying a very steep price but Ovechkin is a cheerleader for the regime. To hell with him.
 
Matthews needs to get back to health. Tre needs to make some changes and Stolarz is probably being missed as much or more than 34.Top 3 in this division isn't a given. See what happens in the 2nd half.

The next few weeks are going to be tough, without the best goalie in the league and Matthews (or at best a sub-par Matthews). I expect Matthews to be out for a while longer, just based on Berube talking about how he is "progressing." In any case, the chances of taking first in the division look to be pretty much gone. Make the playoffs, get everyone healthy, make some deadline additions and see what happens.

Oh, and fix the damn PP...
