Final 2 zone entry attempts were both dump ins, Anaheim go to the puck first both times pretty easily.

If you're going to dump it in, you gotta get on your horses and go get it!!!

We outplayed them / Gibson / uneven calls / a couple undisciplined penalties. Great game!

Agreed.

This team is going to be exceptional soon.
Yeah I'm not even upset about the losses cause I see actual positive signs.

Wow clearly Stamkos regrets his decision.

One of the things I don't think we've talked about much is the FO% of our centres:

Bozak - 57.8
Smith - 53.1
Matthews - 46.6
Kadri - 46.5
Gauthier - 41.2 (one game)

Tough to trade Bozak given the other numbers there.

I guess but the difference between Bozak's FO% and Matthews% amounts to 2-3 wins a night assuming they take 16-20 faceoffs a game. It's not night and day in terms of possessing the puck.

If Bozak was 25 and making half his current salary I might agree but the reality is he's 30 years old, has a 4.2 million per year cap hit and won't be a part of this team when they are actually set to contend in a couple of years. If you can get something of value I don't see why he wouldn't be moved in an instant.

From the little I saw of the game, it looked like the Goat is not out of place at all.  He has a calm presence and won a late faceoff in the 3 minute warning. Perhaps he will be our 4th guy

That, and faceoffs is a skill that can be learned. Very few players break into the league proficient at it. Many of the guys who are now among the best in the league were below 50% for the first few years in the league - and almost all were in their rookie season. It would be great if the team could become an elite faceoff group, but, it's not the end of the world if they don't. The correlation between faceoff success and overall success is extremely weak/basically non-existent.

Just adding to what busta said, CF% correlates to point production (obviously because points are generated by shooting and CF% is just counting shots), and point production relates to wins; FO% seems to have no discernible impact on CF%.

Face-offs aren't the micro stat you're looking for.
