You know I'm all about gushing over Lupul but I can't catch Tuesday games. Did they always have so many Tuesday games, or only since I joined a hockey league that plays the same night. :( Really should've joined Sunday when leafs don't play often, didn't think that through.

Looking forward to this one. Another big test.

Also nice to see the teams from the west again after last year's lockout

I know he has 8 pts in 9 games so far, but in pure goal scoring terms, Kessel is likely to catch fire sometime soon. 2 in 9 is slightly below average for him I think.

Anaheim destroyed Dallas (though I'm not sure how with their line-up). Beauchemin lay a big hit near the end of the game, and Benn took him on in a fight, cutting Beauch with his visor. They're not exactly tough, but they have a strong checking game.

Should be interesting, but I think we'll come up short. Hope I'm wrong.

As always, I love the game day threads you do Carlton.  A1 job!

+1!  Goldenrod is the perfect colour for Anaheim.  Well played, sir, well played.

I'm in that mode again where I don't care if they win or lose so much as I just want them to show some improvement in their weakest areas: namely turnovers and puck possession.  Let's see some cycling, some good passing, and let's get some shots tonight!

Goldenrod was an easy pick. Finding the right variant of it, now that was a challenge!

Bernier's in the home net at practice, which indicates that he'll likely start.

The first very odd goaltending decision in my opinion by Carlyle. He's lost two in a row and hasn't looked as sharp as he did a couple of weeks ago. In a rotation system there's no real reason not to go back to Reimer right now.

My only guesses are either (a) a hunch, or (b) since they have a capable goalie in Bernier that they just want to give Reimer some additional time before he gets into another game.

Bernier may be more familiar with the Ducks due to his time in L.A.  But maybe they're also just being cautious with Reimer.  We'll see what happens Thursday, I guess.

They usually play Tues/Thurs/Saturday each week as far as I can remember, this month its every Tues/Thurs/Sat.

It also means Reimer's 1st start after this layoff will be against a much easier opponent in Columbus.

Huh. You know I suppose it's not all that surprising given his relatively short career and the unusual schedule last year but Reimer has never played against the Ducks. Bernier has played them 4 times but that familarity has led to some pretty mediocre numbers(.899 sv%) so I'm not sure what to make of that.
