Bernier may be more familiar with the Ducks due to his time in L.A.

Huh. You know I suppose it's not all that surprising given his relatively short career and the unusual schedule last year but Reimer has never played against the Ducks. Bernier has played them 4 times but that familarity has led to some pretty mediocre numbers(.899 sv%) so I'm not sure what to make of that.

Yeah, I've never quite understood the philosophy behind all that.  I mean, if Bernier has experience against the Ducks, don't the Ducks have experience against him, too?

I think Carlyle badly wants the win tonight and perhaps in his mind, Bernier a gives him a better chance at getting it.

Is only one game, but the win/loss record looks so much different. It's either mediocre or really good after tonight....

6-4 or 7-3

I'm expecting this to be a good one. The Ducks are gonna be tough though.

Well lets hope the motivation is better against RC old compared to the Stanley cup champs. Too be honest I was hoping for Reimer in net, because the last two with Bernier have not impressed me...

Remember when Wilson had money on the table for his first game against San Jose?

Man, Ron was awesome.

I'm sure Randy has made it clear that anyone who doesn't give 110% tonight will be playing the next few weeks on the same line as Colton Orr. So, you know, motivation through intimidation and such.

Didn't the media try to stir something up about that?

Saying it was compensation out with the CBA or some such nonsense.

Well at least it might give Kadri someone to play with too.

The team was actually fined because of it.

According to Dave Feschuk, Reimer has the flu (insert Reimer's mother joke).

Hence Bernier's third straight start.

How old is Selanne? Randy Carlyle's last year in the NHL (1992-93) was Selanne's first. They both played together for the Jets for one season.
