Ducks sign Kesler to 6-year extension

Even though Phaneuf and Kessler play different positions.Phaneuf's salary and age verses 6 years left on his contract.I'll take Phaneuf's contract.Especially now with Babcock's coaching effect on Dion.

He may just settle him down and bring him back to the fundamentals of the game, without trying to play over his head like he was.

I'm just trying to say that I think the "Babcock-effect" is being seriously overblown. He's a good coach for sure -- one of the best -- but I doubt he's going to have a significant effect on any single player. I do believe better utilization of Kadri and Phaneuf should help their games, but I just don't think it'll be as significant as some are hoping for. And with the substraction of  Kessel, Kadri and JvR are going to be facing tougher competition.

I would just like him to take one of his hands off his stick in the defensive zone.  I don't know why he kept up with that once Wilson left.
