ECF: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Florida Panthers

Is anyone feeling a little better now? Are some finally seeing the light? Even if the Panthers lose this series I hope these 2 wins finally drive home how well  they are playing right now, even when being out shot 16-1  they didn't panic, they never let the game get out of hand because they know they have Bobrovsky, they just bide their time, flipping the puck out of their zone, then when an opportunity arises, bam game over, I'm telling you guys I don't think there was much more  we could have done, Florida is on a roll and if they keep it up they will win the Cup.
 
What's great is that there's going to be absolutely no reflection from the people who thought the Leafs struggling to score against Florida was evidence of a deep character flaw.

This is pretty insane what Bobrovsky is doing.  He looked like garbage most of the year and was a below average goaltender.

Montreal goes to the finals, Tampa goes to the finals and now likely Florida goes to the finals as our last three playoff opponents

Clearly Bobrovsky just has that playoff edge. He digs down inside and finds the gritty toughness needed to make saves in the playoffs. He's not soft like other goalies. He brings it in the playoffs because he's a manly man man man.

Except for other years. But now! Pure gravel in his veins.

I mean, I just don't really think a mediocre team winning by virtue of really good goaltending makes for compelling viewing if I'm not a fan of the team. Good players, goals...those are still selling points.

Panthers get a power play with a minute left in the 3rd and score with less than 10 seconds to sweep Carolina

Florida was tackling people all over the place in the third.  Refereeing  in the NHL is truly awful

I drop out after the Leafs do but this is what they need to start doing, like crazy, in the playoffs.  Dare the refs to call it all.
 
Wild that the Panthers were able to sweep. I expected a tight series but it really is crazy how every tight game has gone Florida's way. I really have no idea how the finals gonna play out, but one of two different expansion teams are going to win. Le sigh.

On a separate note, I can't seem to find a clip of Jordan Staals trip... Was it call worthy?

If it was the one directly before the third Panthers goal just on the blueline, then yes, it was blatant.

I mean Svech and Patches were injured... they at least looked dominant in their first two series. This is a team one could make a better case for running it back imo.
