Passive is a bloody understatement.  Just standing around.  That's a coaching decision.
Exactly, that must be a coaching decision. I doubt that the players are just so lame that they forgot how to skate. And if things don't work, things must change. And we've seen these lame goals in several games.

Do you guys even read what you write?
Yes, and believe it or not, but some coaches actually believe in that kind of a system.

Our defensive play and the PK has been brutal and Marty has been less than stellar for the Devils. All in all, a pretty bad Hockey Game all the way around. :/

You don't think our coaches preach standing around like idiots during penalty killing practice?

I heard they don't practice the PK, Wilson just gathers them around to think up snarky things to say to the media and whoever thinks of the funniest gets a treat.

Yeah, when CuJo and Belfour were here it's not like we were a sick shutdown team really.  There are plenty of season highlights on youtube of the Leafs running around like chickens with their heads cut off and getting bailed out with huge saves.

It was incredibly frustrating, because, if some of those teams had paid more attention to the defensive side of the game, they were talented enough and deep enough to be real Cup threats - and quite possibly would have at least made an appearance in the Finals.

sorry I'm late, I was making a Christmas stocking... so, to catch up:

edit: If they practice it at all that is.
Well either they do or they just stink at communicating what they want.  :)

What kind of system, the 'Lay back and think of England' play or just the one you're making up?
