It's really no different, if the stick breaks it's a penalty, if it doesn't it's not.  It wrecked a scoring chance, but because his stick wasn't weak and broke, it's not one.

A really weird precedent they've set.

They usually call sticks getting knocked out of players hands on plays like that as well.

Yep, here's the rule:

61.1 Slashing - Slashing is the act of a player swinging his stick at an opponent, whether contact is made or not. Non-aggressive stick contact to the pant or front of the shin pads, should not be penalized as slashing. Any forceful or powerful chop with the stick on opponent?s body, the opponent?s stick, or on or near the opponent?s hands that, in the judgment of the Referee, is not an attempt to play the puck, shall be penalized as slashing.

It's great how Burke has assembled this Blues team.  They have it all: testo, truco, belligero.

So... 3 shots in 30 minutes and they were all dribblers?

This is absolutely embarrassing

Deep breaths.

But all of his deep breathing won't change the fact the Leafs are getting outscored 21-5 in Periods 2 and 3.

Brutal.

Neither will posting about it, but that still happens.

Except that comments and opinions are what we do here and I suppose that we each get what we want from it. But breathing won't change anything.
