Joe colborne gets the callup for tonight's game against washington.

and...

maybe Gustavsson in net?

Jonas Gustavsson in the home net this morning. Await confirmation but looks to be starter tonight.

Strikes me as another 'set him up to fail' kind of start.  Give Scriven's the easier teams, then shove Gustavsson in net after sitting for a week after a game where he played well until the two back-to-back goals against, arguably the best team in the league with half a roster.  But hey, if he plays well, it's just one game, and if he struggles, it will probably be all Gustavsson's fault.

It will always be Gustavsson's fault.

Man why am I going to this game tonight?  I suspect we're gonna get hammered. On the plus side maybe it'll be Wilson's last game?

Let me know if you can hear my boos later on.

Not a chance, the Leafs already have the excuse ready for that, the lineup looks like a Swiss Cheese with all the injuries. Not even a 30-0 Capitals will get him fired.

30-0?  I might stay to the end of the game for that. History and all that, 10 goals a period imagine.

NOt a line-up ant of us would have wished for at this point

Saturday's Projected Lines vs. Capitals

Forwards:
Lupul - Bozak - Kessel
Frattin - Connolly - Kulemin
Steckel - Colborne - Crabb
Rosehill - Dupuis - Orr

Defence:
Gunnarsson - Phaneuf
Gardiner - Schenn
Liles - Franson

Goalies:
Gustavsson starts
Scrivens

Wow Wilson .. Gus is being set up to fail! Well I hope he sticks it to Wilson and pulls it out.. 3-0 Leafs!

Gus needs to have a good start, he won't play again until Friday. Wait.. just looked and Dallas has lost 4 in row. So he won't start again until the 30th against Boston.

This could be Gus's 'finds a nugget' game. Or it could end up being the final nail on his coffin as a Leaf?

I'm going also - the first time this year (and I have season tickets). Oddly enough I'm really not looking forward to it like I used to. This team just hasn't played very entertaining hockey for some time now. If it weren't for my daughter wanting to go I'd probably have gotten rid of the tickets. Truly sad.

Interesting lineup choices by our commanding commander.

Whatever, this is a challenge to Gus to come up with a really solid game for a change.  Let's see how he does.

i really find it surprising that people suggest Wilson is "being mean" to Gus by playing him.  I would hope every goalie would relish every game he would get to play in the nhl.  good team, bad team, it shouldnt matter... especially when you are the de facto backup and the starter is injured.

Kadri or Colborne should be given a chance at that top line, and one of Orr or Rosehill should ALWAYS be out of the line-up.

They're having trouble scoring and this is what Wilson comes up with.  It's absurd.

Just watching the Jets and Flyers game.

What we would do for someone like Antropov in the lineup.

He was tough, loyal, creative and had a sense of leadership about him.  Shoving him out the door was Burke's short-sightedness at its worst, not to mention the fact that it coincided with the Leafs' recent death spiral.
