Game 29 - Leafs @ Caps - Dec 9th, 2011 - 19:00 EST

Forgot to mention, Kessel with 3 points tonight to re-take the scoring lead.  That is all.

is it really the monster with the start?  ..interesting

Siegel said Reimer is starting.

Funny, but my gut reaction was that Gus should be starting.

We don't suddenly need a goalie controversy.  Everyone knew going into the season that Reimer was the #1 goalie.  You don't suddenly lose your job because you've been injured for over a month.

The #1 goalie should be the one who gives you the best chance to win games, not just the one you declared to be #1. Based on past play, that is probably Reimer. However, he hasn't won a game since he came back.

I agree that Reimer needs to play to get the rust off, but if it doesn't start to translate into wins.....there could be a goaltending controversy whether you want one or not.

Reimer was a sole reason Leafs got a point vs NJ. There is no reason to believe he isn't the best chance Leafs have to win.

Well he's only played 2 games since coming back and one was against the nemesis Boston. He played very well after the 2 goals last start and gave the Leafs a shot in that game that could have easily turned into a blowout.

I agree.  Reimer is the presumptive #1 and you give him a fair shot at retaining that status.  The last thing we need is a "goalie controversy."

I don't have a strong opinion on who should start tonight but I don't think the goaltending situation going into this year was settled to the point that we should be referring to the #1 goaltending position as Reimer's job. This was the year he was going to have to establish himself as such.

I don't believe he was the "sole reason" they got a point. But it could be argued that the winning OT goal wasn't all that great.

Having said that, I still think that he's our best bet in the long run, he just hasn't shown the same form this year that won our hearts last year.

I just sat thru that whole 49 min press conference.

If there is one thing those talking heads are adept at it's not answering
any questions.

Does anyone have a feed for those of us in the US?  I'm watching sportlemon.tv right now but would really like the Canadian feed.

Thanks!!!!
