Why don't McArthur shoot himself there, he was alone with the goalie, and yet passes the puck, with the risk of losing it...and the other guy didn't have a better chance really

I don't know if you can criticize a guy for a play where his decision results in a pretty great scoring chance.
Well I think so, I mean it's one thing if you have a lot of space, but the thing is that McArthur was basically in front of the net himself and passed to a guy that is to the right of the net, makes no sense to do that since McArthur had a much better angle himself. And it was quite obvious on his body language what he was gonna do.

It makes perfect sense to try that, tap in open side, happens all the time.
It makes sense if you use the width and one is skating to the left and one to the right, not one in the centre and one to the right with a close distance.

Luongo is so big though that the smart money is always going to be to get him moving. Either way, the only thing you can ask of a team on a 2 on 1 is to get a great chance and they did. I'm not sure why it matters if it comes from a pass or a shot.

And nice job there Phaneuf, let Vancouver slap at the goalie and barely touch him for it.

Malholtra bent down and we get a hit to the head call? I agree with giving the refs more of the discretion, but they need to use it properly, no?

Well the point is that you do not pass the puck if you're in front of the net yourself, it's one thing if you don't have a great angle, but McArthur was basically in front of the net himself, and then passes a short pass to the right, with too little movement on such a play. If I were him I would have faked a pass to the right and then scored high in the left corner ;)

Nice try Kesler, your diving medal awaits.

Great try on the pk there by Connolly.

Schenn must have picked him up and thrown him for him to go that far.  It was comical.

I probably wouldn't be as upset about that penalty call if I didn't know that a similar hit will happen against a Leaf player later in the game and no call will be made.
