Kessel was sat?  He had the most ice-time he's had in 5 games, but I was watching very late at night so it's entirely possible my off was brain by that point [on purpose].

According to NHL.com, he had just over 4 minutes TOI in the 3rd.

Yeah he wasn't stapled to the bench like JVR was, but he did miss some shifts. He only played 2 shifts in the second half of the 3rd, as Carlyle was throwing Kadri and Lupul out every chance he got.

I was kinda thinking the same, with all the effort put out the last two games, and facing a pretty weak opponent. That certainly would have been the case in previous years. I think this is one of those telling games tonight (good or bad). Scrivens needs to be sharp if they want the win.

What effort? The Bruins skated circles around them on Saturday night and pretty much did the same thing for extended stretches last night. Most of the Leafs, especially Kessel and JVR, should be fresh as daisies.

This is a no excuses game. If they can't beat a decimated, last-place Florida team, it's not a very good sign.

Tonight I expect nothing short of the Leafs cruising to an easy win.

Yikes. You're an optimistic fellow...!  :)

And I should be, were not a bottom feeder team anymore. we should win these games at this time of year, its what the good teams do.

I think some Leaf fans may need to learn what its like cheering for a winning team. all that negitivity from all them years of loosing.

Nut, come on now...the Leafs are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights, coming off hard-fought battles with Boston.  Florida was sitting in Toronto last night waiting for the Leafs, so they're rested.  Leafs might take this game for granted, and get caught by a fresh Panthers team.  We've seen it before where the Leafs are flat in the 2nd of a back to back, especially when the opposition hasn't played the night before.  I would be surprised if this is an easy win for the Leafs.  I fully expect the Leafs to run out of gas by the third period.

You make good points, but I fully expect the game to be well in hand early enough to hang on.

this game make sme nervous. Emotional letdown.. Happens to many. shouldn't but does. I heard that Carlyle had a tema meeting today, I am sure this had to be on the agenda

We'll win this one tonight.  That team may be well-rested, but it's a well-rested AHL squad.  No excuses.

With 14 games left and the race this tight, pretty much every game against teams below you in the standings is a must win. Out of the 14 games left, the Leafs should win 10 of them.

Out of all those must win games, tonight may be the must-win-iest of them all.

Frattin better be back in the line-up tonight.  He adds way more to the line-up then Hamilton ever will.

Agreed, but he needs to recapture his goal scoring touch, and soon.

he just needs to find his legs again post-injury

He probably needs to find Kadri as his centre-man.... just like every other player who has had success this year... because of Kadri.

thank goodness there's a GDT up. I had no idea there was a game tonight! yikes!

<<<gets bears all ready>>>

and the Lupul hearts

With all of Florida's injuries, the Leafs should kick the crap out of them, 5-0 Toronto.

That being said, the Leafs will probably lose 3-2 lol

Lupes with goals in all 3 games he's played since the injury...I say he gets 2 more tonight. :)

Either that or maybe JVR shakes off the frost?

Lupul is playing like a man possessed. Forgot how good he could be.
