WTF is it with Reimer and his damn 5 hole... he makes Cloutier's 5 hole look minuscule in comparison and thats pretty fricking bad.

Someone better start working with him and tell him he's a goalie not a effing hooker on skates. He's paid to keep his damn legs closed not open.

Most butterfly goalies have weak 5-holes, but Reimer's is something else. He doesn't even try to use his stick either. Like he doesn't even know what it's for, other than poor attempts to handle the puck.

It's like he has no clue that if he keeps his stick on the ice he'll have less to cover. I would guess that at least 60-70% of the goals against reims are 5 hole he's that horrible. Rather then fix that i would love to simply get a new damn goalie. That's the pinch tho... what do you give up to have a goalie that can understand that people are shooting X on him and he needs to adjust his play accordingly.

I can't get a 747 through that.

His 5-hole isn't that bad, let's not over-react.  He's a butterfly goalie, like most he'll get beat 5-hole, it isn't some epidemic with him.

When a goalie is that predictable and also that horrible when it comes to rebound control AND most importantly puck handling... Thats a trifecta of failure waiting to kill a teams hopes and aspirations.

How many games have we lost momentum in by a weak as hell goal let alone lost the game because he let in not just one softie but more then one. Playoffs will chew him up and spit him out  faster then a fat kid can eat a snickers bar.

Are you sure he just isn't washed up already?

Oh probably.  But really him and Scrivens are two of the biggest reasons for the Leafs record right now, and unless there is some way to show that he gets beat 5-hole more than other goalies who play similar styles then I don't see anything out of the ordinary - at least not enough to freak out over Staal beating him on a breakaway.  I'm pretty sure lots of posters have always complained that he gets beat too easy high - so somehow despite being terrible 5-hole and terrible high he's still sporting a very good sv%.

Boy we still have those bouts where we can't get the puck out of our end for the life of us.. Whether shorthanded or not. Chances are on our stick to clear it out but nope. Right to that point man.. We can't let these points slip away..Can't

So the book on Reims is...

Shoot High
Shoot Low
Shoot 5 Hole
Shoddy at best rebound control by and large
Please do let him handle the puck as it will probably end up in his net or as a good scoring chance for you.

Missing anything? lol That's not a good book at all.

@ Arn I know they don't spit out their snickers... thats why i said faster then a fat kid can EAT it ;)

I don't think you can ask too much more out of our young goalies. Ralphy was just talking about Scrivens and how well he's played. Reimer is only going to get better IMO. He's been more refined every season as far as I can see.

Maybe things have been tough for a while and folks are still in those times, but I'm actually enjoying the games this season very much. It's nice to see a competitive team on the ice again, wearing blue and white.

The Leafs should play his entire period in Carolina's end. Don't even give them a sniff at your net. Put this crap team away.
