Also for a fairly physical and strong defensive player, he gets ripped pretty hard by the broadcasters/casual fans for a guy on pace for 46 points.

I wouldn't say it's just casual fans that have been ripping on Kulemin. It's slowed as of late, as his production has gone up, but Kulemin has been ripped for 2 years straight. Call it unreal expectations if you'd like.

You would like to say that his biggest mistake was to score 30 goals because he will always be forced to try to live up to that.  However, in doing so even if it was an aberration it shows that he may be good for another surprise season in the future. It also shows that this is a guy that can play a strong defensive role with offense to chip in and somebody that you can move all over the line up.  Very valuable guy when you factor in his never say die work ethic even when he was at his lowest of lows last season.

My biggest question would be, does a guy like Komarov make a player like Kulemin expendable?

I wouldn't think so, I see Komarov as an irritating to play against pest, the kind of guy you hate to play against but love to have on your team but a guy with no offensive upside.  Komarov even if all the stars were to align wouldn't  score 20 goals let alone 30.

You know now that I see this with more than the still frame, it is almost disturbing.  Buddy is either crazy over the top with his anger issues or he is in fact celebrating despite the Sens jersey.

I think the woman beside him tries to get him to sit back down at the end.  She almost looks amused, though.

Also, while I'm not that superstitious for a hockey fan, maybe it isn't such a good idea to put a giant ZERO on the front of your jerseys.  Just sayin'.

Look at all that wasted beer.

The guy next to him in a Leafs sweater is making almost the same gesture. Unless the guy is shaking his fist in anger at Bishop it looks more like a celebratory fist pump to me. Maybe he's a Leafs fan who was afraid to wear an away jersey?  What with the sens fans' fearsome rep as ruffians, I could see it.

Well they are trying to keep Leaf fans out, maybe the only way to get in the building these days is to masquerade as a Sens fan.

I'm actually a decent fan of Komarov's game in the Leafs lineup, but I'm not sure how the two can be compared aside from both being Russian and both playing a somewhat physical game.  Kulemin at his worst is a 30+ point forward and at his best has hit 30 goals.  Komarov is going to max out around 20 points most likely.

Kulemin looks like he can add value to the top nine when he plays like he is these days. Komarov looks like he is suited for bottom six as checker and agitator. That could change but we have only seen him for part of a season in the NHL.

Absolutely not. You need some guys that have a physical aspect and skill to their game throughout your lineup. Unlike Komarov, Kulemin can fill-in in a top 6 role and contribute. Komarov just doesn't seem to have much offence in him.

Honestly i think the biggest mistake the fans made is to not cut him some slack with all the personal strife he went thru last year. He lost his trainer and a lot of friends in that crash in russia and i believe he had something happen to his immediate family. The fact that he has battled thru all that and is starting to turn his game around is a testament to his intestinal fortitude imho. He brings that edge to his line and balances it out nicely.

On a diff note tho

Last nights game was one of the most satisfying game in recent memory.
Things have reached the turning point and by the time we next play a bit more of the playoff picture should have shaken out. Then we just have to pounce on Fla and keep on rolling.

GLG!!!
