Kessel gives away a dummy stick not one of his fancy-taped ones heh

They always do that for the 3 stars.  They are autographed sticks.

Reimer's had 1st Star on the shaft and a signature on the blade.

Edit: Wizards beat me to it.

They're pretty neat for the kids I suppose. Plus they break enough of the $300 sticks during the games to be giving them away.

Reimer since the trade deadline:

4-1-1 ; 1.81 GAA ; 0.941 SV%

Yep, we're in pretty good hands.

Sometimes the stats lie...

Not this time though. He really has been fantastic, great to see. I can't remember the last time a Leafs GK stole a game for the team like he did tonight.  The manner in which he did it was the best part; he looked unbeatable in the 3rd especially.

Also can't hurt to have a great PK led by (arguably) the best PKing forward in the league and a strong supporting cast.

the reimer stick said "1st star" on it

And did you see how happy that kid looked when Reimer pointed to him through the glass before handing the stick to him?  If he smiled any wider the top of his head would fall right off.

if this happened to anyone other than new jersey i might feel bad for them...two games in a row where they badly out chanced a team and came up with nothing.  it was nice to hear "reimer..reimer...reimer" it has been a long long time since i heard the fans cheering on a leaf goalie.

kessel really looked the part of the game breaker out there...and over all the leafs manage a win where they deserved a loss...i hope they don't make a habbit of getting outplayed though.  I forgive them a little knowing just how badly nj needed these points.  the shot of making the playoffs must be really slim now.

i guess they did what i wanted them too.so i guess i have to let them off the hook tomorrow night if they lose..but it gets harder and harder to picture them doing that...they're just almost always in the game

I watched the game, and I'll tell you this, Reimer stole this one. good teams have good goalies that can steal games.

One thing that does worry me is the lack of shots this team is getting. Reimer may of stolen this one, and poor goaltending on the part of the Habs stole the last one, but this type of play can't continue.

It's not always how many shot you take, it's how many go in. as for Jersey not many teams get a lot of shots on them.

While teams may not get a lot of shots on NJ, 13 is far below average I'd think.

If Toronto repeats with a similar performance tonight against the Caps, it'll be a blowout.
