Game 55: Maple Leafs @ Flyers, 7:00Pm, Battle of #1 Goalies?

well I don't know what the leafs are going to do in the intermission ..but this is the kind of game that will go from 1-0 to 7-0 in a hurry if they don't find a way to break up philly's plays in the neutral zone ...i'm not sure it's the effort that's lacking here..i think the leafs just look a little shell shocked

Sooo didn't catch much of the first (f@#$%ing leafs tv streaming down AGAIN) but it sounds like their performance would be best described by the picture of the pooping polar bear?

Don't want to pick on Armstrong but he has been invisible since coming back.

He's playing on the 4th line, so he's not getting much ice time, and he's been effective along with Brown and Steckel there, IMO.

And not in the good "defensively stable" way.  You have to hope it's a conditioning thing, because he's playing like he's done.

Really?  He's loafing around the ice, missing defensive assignments, and generally doing very little to suggest he even belongs on the 4th line, let alone the 2nd or 3rd.  Again though, I hope it's a conditioning thing.  The team could use the tenacity he has when he's playing well.

Gord Miller jinxing the PK - just like he jinxes shutouts (I can say that because I want to jinx the Philly one..... ;)

How did he 'jinx' the pk?

As was noted, the Flyers have their A game so far tonight, Leafs not so much but a couple push backs and solid effort from Reimer. Hopefully he inspires a better second and Dion just forgets about fighting for a while, they need him on the ice.

Well if we want to talk "invisible" you have to include Connolly - I suppose he's being "used" in the wrong slot though.

He was jabbering on about the Leafs PK record since Jan 1st...it just seems that when he mentions shutouts, that goaltender loses it. Just remember his comments during this game.... :-X

He could be a bit gassed/getting his feet under him against a pretty good team tonight, I thought he was effective in a minor role when came back.

I don't see him loafing.  He does look like his timing is off, no doubt, but if you want your 4th line to provide energy and grit, then yes, I'd say he's been effective.  Not lights out, but effective.

Well the streak will be talked about endlessly by everyone and it will end sometime, I mean blame it on whoever you like but I'll blame the Leafs pk when it happens.
