Game of Thrones (spoilers duh)

I do not think it is insignificant that melissandre is at the wall. Remember beric dondarion. Just my speculation.

Yeah, I thought that too. Although I thought that would be how they presto zapped Stannis.

I don't think it works if the head comes  off. Arya asked this of thoros of myr I can't remember if that was the book or the show though.

I thought Mel was basically abandoning Stannis and turned her sights on Jon being the new saviour. She did take a liking to him. But yeah I don't think Jon's finished.

So.... Are they all dead?

I was reading comments from others and a lot of people thought that Sansa and Theon committed suicide by jumping. Which is weird because I never once thought that, figured they were planning on the snow to break their fall and that they're fine.

Hey, if Olly helps get Jon out from under his oath 'Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death', with some Melisandre finagling, then good on him, but also, I wonder if he ate the chili.

I think (and based on what I've read of fan theories) when the soldiers went AWOL she realized that while she saw the Bolton's in flames, it was due to Jon and not Stannis.  Something like that.

But then there's also the speculation about Jon's parents...

Yeah there's a whole thing about how Jon is actually the person Mel thought Stannis was.

Fan speculation is usually nuts,  but I like this theory a lot and I hope it's true.

There is a good article from the vulture that addresses all the theories as to why last night may not be what it seemed to be.

I'm wondering how thing are going to work now though, I think they've exhausted the already published books, the next one will be published sometime 2016 at the earliest, so I wonder what they are going to use as the source material for the next season.

Then the final book likely won't be around till near the end of the decade, it seems the TV show will be finished long before that.

IIRC, Martin has informed the producers of the direction of the last two books, mostly in case he dies before he finishes them.

Or if he just continues on his current glacial speed. The continents drift faster than he writes.

Are there any ASoIaF book readers here? Plenty of clues littered throughout A Dance with Dragons.

What an uneven season that was, and a waste of Sand Snakes.

I watched the entire GOT series in a little under a month, finished 2 days before the season 5 finale. Obviously got pretty hooked. Picked up all the books too, I'll start reading them soon.

I've read all the books, but I forget a lot of the details as it's been awhile. They've certainly changed quite a number of things; some for the better some not.

I'm glad they cut out the whole Iron Islands story line; the books lost me there.

That's cool man, it's one of those shows that I wish I was able to binge watch first time around, the waiting between episodes is brutal.

It's TV heroin.

I agree in general. That stuff in Dorne in particular seemed like it was an episode's worth of material stretched over into a season.

The show is always going to have some of the best moments of TV but it's become wildly uneven and, as I mentioned last year, the grimness of it all has built in my mind from simply being unpleasant to kind of comical.
