Depends, is this the Gary Roberts training on physical fitness that's gotten rave reviews or the training he offers in how to be a gossipy high school girl?

He now appears to be combining both of those mad skillz into a new found power.

Yeah Lupul is the guy that they should be booing  ::)

I'm sure it had more to do with the team than him personally. They should probably stop showing Leafs players on the jumbotron. The city is still pretty mad at them.  :P

Sure, but sometimes what they do just makes no sense.

Great now even Gary Roberts is trolling the Leafs.

He's been trolling them for years, just finally figured out twitter so he doesn't have to wait until radio shows call and bait him with loaded questions.

Trolling aside, I wish Kadri would go train with Roberts (and Stamkos) this summer.  I think it would be really good for his development.

Good thing LHF wasn't there.  Headline:

Always has been. One of my co-workers used to be loadmaster on the Leaf charters (two year gig.) Says Roberts and Nolan were the two biggest jerks. (FWIW.)

Doesn't surprise me.

That's not jerkiness, it's HEART.

I miss the locker-room insider information that dried up after the lockout.  I have absolutely no idea why?

Can anyone even picture Kessel playing in this physical Pitt-Philly series?  Would he even be anywhere close to the corners?

Give me Giroux any day of the week and i will build my team around him...so much skill and doesnt shy away from traffic.

Why would Kessel want to be in the corners? You don't score goals from there.

I would still take Kessel anytime over Giroux.  :)

Stats....

He was in many a scrum/fight moreso than Grabo.
Ok more Gritty.
Grabo is not as Gritty as Gilmour, but my argument to begin with is their is no player on the Leafs who can throw his weight around and make any impact in a game, or do it consistently.

I agreed. That's a huge problem, from a lot of perspectives. When we had Domi, Roberts, Tucker, Corson, Green, we hammered teams like Ottawa into submission as well as having skill guys like Sundin, Mogilny, etc to go with them. When Tucker or Roberts were slamming guys, the team skated with some bravado and the fans were into it.
Now it's the other way around when teams like Boston comes to town.
Watching some of these rough playoff series, I am almost glad the Leafs didn't make it as the results might have been an even bigger embarrassment, not to mention a half a dozen Leaf players going to the mash unit. Burkie has to bulk up the team, but it's not going to be easy. Players like that are hard to come by, that's why he's drafting players like Ross, Biggs, etc. We may have to get the bulk of them through the draft.

This revisionist history.  Most of the time when we played Ottawa, we were massively outplayed except in goal which was where we won the series.  Thank god for Patrick Lalime.

As for what the fans are in to -- they are in to winning.  When you win, you perceive your team as one that tries hard and skates with bravado.

I wonder if they ever look at other sports?  At work, the owner's son was playing basketball, changed to football, and was signed by an NFL team after only seeing his youtube clips.  Would be nice to see the Leafs with someone 6'8", 300+lbs.

How about putting a sumo wrestler in nets?  Like Akebono Taro:

Look, he already knows Allaire style!
