Sandin would only be leaving in a big trade with a substantial piece coming back. I think this may be the end for Muzzin. We have Rielly, Muzz, Sanding and Gio on the left now. I don't see Sandin moving to the right side but you never know.Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:This is no time to be sentimental. Spezza needs to be replaced by a much younger guy.
And if this means they are going to trade Sandin, I will be pissed. That guy is the next Anton Stralman, and I want him in a Leafs uni.

That's actually exactly how it works. It's science.

He seems like the kind of guy who won?t complain as long as he gets to hang out with the boys
Only problem is Simmonds is already signed for next season and would currently be penciled in for that spot too. I really don't think we can justify having them both on the roster. If Spezza does want to return maybe we could see if Simmonds would be open to a trade to Philly.
I find it hard to believe they signed him for 800K. But who knows how these guys think? He's playing at home now with a 1st class organization.CarltonTheBear said:I keep thinking there's something we must be missing here. Like are there $3mil in performance bonuses that just haven't been reported yet?

I know the lockerroom seems to love both guys but I think I would rather have Spezza in the lockerroom over Simmonds if we are having them there as more of a cheerleader/veteran type role.
Agree. If Spezza comes back in a limited role, Simmonds goes to the Marlies and is an injury replacement guy. We can't have them both playing on a line anymore. We need more from our bottom 6. I think it's time for a kid from the Marlies to be there. A guy like Douglas, who is a monster. Holmberg, Anderson, Steeves, McMann, Seney. Surely they could make a pretty decent 4th line with these guys.Zanzibar Buck-Buck McFate said:L K said:CarltonTheBear said:L K said:Guilt Trip said:I think they might keep Spezza as a 13th guy if he agrees to a reduced role.

They don't need cheerleader/veterans taking up space. The core guys aren't kids anymore. They need to maximize talent on ice.
