Golden Knights @ Leafs - Nov. 2nd, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

That was about as good a performance as you could wish for from literally the  first shift right to the end. Excellent stuff.

And herman goes wild

Nah, it?s old hat by now.

His no look pass to Matthews PP goal though

Marner getting that chintzy second assist is also a chef?s kiss moment (he did work to keep the play alive). I can?t remember the last play where it was the Big 3 on the score.

Hard to truly know how good the team was when Vegas was down so many key pieces, but I'll take the W.

Thursday will be a different story and give a good indication. Keep in mind though that Vegas was coming off of winning 3 games straight including one over Colorado.

It's really funny that Mitch Marner succeeds when he plays like a puckmoving, playmaking RD.

I'm in the grumpy phase of my Leafs fandom.  That was a game that sucked me back in on the potential of this team.  It's only one game but I liked so much of the play last night.

Liljegren looked fantastic.  It's been said a few times but I think the Leafs made a mistake not finding a way to get him a few more games last year.  He seemed more confident jumping up into the play last night.  The Leafs are a better team with him in the lineup.  He's a solid defensive player and I think there is still some untapped offensive potential...especially with our top 6 and his ability to hit tape on stretch passes.

I have to agree...I thought he was great last night.

I sure hope that he keeps it up.

I'm not sure about that. When he did get into the lineup last season, he did not look anywhere near as comfortable as he has so far season. I think having him focus on cleaning up his play with and without the puck in the AHL last season played a big part of why he looks like a legit NHL defenceman so far this season.

...

Who is #7 on the Knights? because that was the worst penalty-killing I've ever seen.

I was plumping for him to play more with the Leafs last year but I acknowledge that you could be quite right.  Whatever the case, if he keeps this up ? a huge if ? then it's a real shot in the arm.

Muzzin looks like something's wrong with him, skating. Maybe rest him and put Holl back in?

Muzzin won't be able to get a break just yet with Dermott questionable after blocking a shot with his foot. Negative on the x-rays last night but probably better to take it easy.
