Ovechkin hoisting the cup was nice. It can finally shit up some of the ?but no cup? idiots who aren?t willing to acknowledge that he is arguably the best goal scorer of all time.
Congratulations to the Washington Capitals on being crowned Stanley Cup Champions!!
And especially to Ovie who finally joins elite company in winning Lord Stanley's silver chalice. Plus, being named Conn Smythe Trophy winner as MVP.
Ovechkin ties Sidney Crosby for most post-season goals (15) scored in the past two decades.
I was watching the post game festivities and something got in my eye when Oshie was speaking!!! Ovie has been great for the game for a long time and it was very nice to watch that man child hoist the Cup!!!! How anyone wouldn't enjoy his enthusiasm is beyond me.
Waiting for Ovie to go over and hoist the Cup was the most anticipated and excited I've ever been in seeing an opposing player lift it over his head. You could just feel both the relief and joy he was experiencing.
Now the whole notion Ovie can't lead you to a Cup can be put to bed. And since having a Cup on your resume supposedly makes you a better player, it should shoot him up in the greatest players of all-time list.
And thankfully this Vegas joke can be put to bed. Good riddance. Washington made them look ordinary, and makes you wonder how the three teams before them got run over by the Golden Knights.

Especially after all the years of disappointment for him it was so well deserved. Quite the contrast to the Vegas fanbase who experienced immediate success and why so many other long suffering fanbases didn't want Vegas to win. Really happy for Ovechkin and those diehard fans in Washington who have been on board since the 70s and had to experience all those playoff failures...double OT, triple OT...the list goes on.
"We've got Americans, we've got Canadians, we've got Swedes, we've got Danes," he said. "We got Russians, we got Czechs, we got Australians. We've got rookies. We got veterans. We got great people. It sounds just like D.C. and the community of D.C."
