Holland traded to Arizona

Think Peter Holland is going to ARIZ for a conditional draft pick

And just like that Leivo is now healthy enough to be taken off the IR. What a great coincidence.

I hope he meets the condition stipulated in the deal, whatever it is.

Happy Birthday!

I'm guessing a number of games played/helping the Desert Tank properly.

Freeing up the roster spot and contract slot is way more valuable at this point than the warm bench.

Arizona's centre depth is currently:

Martin Hanzal: 9 points in 21 games
Christian Dvorak: 8 points in 22 games
Jordan Martinook: 11 points in 26 games
Ryan White: 3 points in 25 games

And Hanzal is rumoured to be on the block.

If Hanzal goes (to MTL?), is Holland the defacto 1C? :D

That's really not completely out of the question. Heck, given how much Hanzal is struggling to score I'd try Holland there right off the bat.

Oh well. Had hopes that Holland was going to be a decent contributor when we picked him up - and I'd still prefer to see him in the lineup over Smith - but, he's better off in another organization.

Well, no wonder they're in 30th! That's ugly.

My exact feelings.

Fare well Petey...

A part of me still wishes we saw him on the left-wing with Matthews and Nylander instead of Hyman, but obviously that was never going to happen.

The conditional pick the Leafs acquired from Arizona is in 2018. Still no word on the round or conditions.

Arizona is kind of in the position the Leafs were when they acquired him, as far as depth at centre goes. Hope he gets a chance to play, too bad he couldn't take Corrado with him.

Bye Peter, I am from Caledon too and you will love life in the Valley, its one great place and you will get to play plenty of minutes. I am coming to see you play  on the 23rd.

Sixth rounder or nothing, eesh.

So, basically, nothing.

And the message for Arizona that Lou pinned on the back of Hollands sweater reads...

'Someday, and that day may never come, I will call upon you to do a service for me. But until that day, accept this player as a gift on my daughter's wedding day'.
