That's a fair point. I wonder if they considered/offered a buy-back incentive for today's game for that reason? Unlikely, but, who knows? Maybe they just held most of the non-STH tickets for schools? Sure, that would put the overwhelming majority of the kids up in the noosebleeds, but, it's still something.

I haven't heard of them doing this but it would have been cool too if they had a "kids get a free hotdog or hat" type of promotion too, to incentivize a parent to bring their kid.

Yeah. Something along those lines would have been a nice move.

Hot dogs and hats would incentivize me!  (and I'm not kidding)

Arenas in non-traditional markets do this all the time.  Here in Carolina they have discounted "Family" tickets where you get 4 Tickets, 4 Hot Dogs, 4 popcorn, 4 Drinks for a discounted price.  They are typically kid-friendly Sunday afternoon games but is likely just another way to get more butts in the seats rather than promote the game to a newer generation of fans.

Klas Dahlbeck? Phillip Di Guiseppe?

"I don't know half these guys and the guys I do know are waaay past their prime..."

It's disappointing that Matthews isn't playing today.  When they said it was day to day and Babcock mentioned that usually means 10 days, today would have been the game he played.  The next 100 years game, wearing a throwback jersey and your franchise player, next captain isn't playing.  I think the team was expecting him to be in by now, it just sucks all around.

Just listening to Hockey Central at Noon and Johnston just remarked about some of the guys have let it slip about the physical and mental fatigue setting in. They've done a lot of the big trips recently, Western Canada, California, Florida. The back to backs, the condensed weeks. And with the parity there's just no off nights, everyone's in every game. I think there's a lot of that going around. I think a lot of teams can be incredible if they're well-rested and firing on all cylinders. If not, they're pretty mediocre.

If the game is celebrating Toronto vs Montreal....shouldn?t it have been a game against Montreal if they are playing at 2pm?

Pretty sure this was planned this way.  If they were playing Montreal, nobody would give up their tickets.  Carolina? Meh, whatever, can skip this one.

Today's the first time I'm wearing the new Matthews jersey the wife got me for Christmas (and I accidentally found early). Fitting, a new start for the next 100 years. Go Leafs! er Arenas!

Huh, I was under the impression she had killed you already.  ;)

Leo!

Millen at the same time keeps saying that was a beauty of a snipe by Komarov and that Darling would have wanted it back.
