I wish I felt that way. Too emotionally invested. Gotta work on that. Maybe this team can help, a few more performances like this might do the trick.Guilt Trip said:They can piss me off and all that crap in the moment but I look at hockey now and for many years as entertainment. Nothing more then that.
It's got nothing to do with balls. He has his vision/ideas and he's going to stick to it. Worst thing to do is have a knee jerk reaction after a game like this. I still think he's going after a top RHD so let's see if he can get one. Me personally, I'm moving Barrie for sure regardless. Liljegren can play the rest of the year. I'm also seeing what players like Hyman, can bring. Sell high if you can. It should be an interesting couple of days.dekedastardly said:Guilt Trip said:Dubas I think will stay the course but we shall see.
Sadly I don't think boy wonder has the balls, or the resources to do anything but that.

The Hurricanes were on a back to back, and playing a 42 year old amateur goalie. This is brutal. Justify however you want, but if you don't put in the effort to try and beat a 42 year old Zamboni driver for the Marlies, well I think the commitment that you had to get to the NHL may have gone somewhere.
I get there are all these fancy stats that say the Leafs are supposed to be good at something, anything, but I really can't see it. They don't seem to be good at anything, and I can't reconcile that because when they had the geriatric GM that was afraid of facial hair, they had 100 point seasons. And now that they have the GM that can't even grow facial hair, they aren't even going to make the playoffs. What the hell is this?
Even if by some miracle they get in, they have virtually no chance to advance.berserker said:This team now desperately needs to get into the playoffs and win a round or 2
They have to advance and hopefully in doing so ,maybe then they will find some heart.
As of now they are all Jekyll and Hyde.
Nik Bethune said:This will probably seem farcical coming from me but it's probably best for fans and people actually associated with the team to not overreact to tonight. They've still won more 60 minute hockey games than the Hurricanes this season and there's just no way that could be true if tonight was anything more than a particularly bad aberration.
Significantly Insignificant said:Maybe Monday will be a sick day. Mad at your hockey team because they can't seem to outwork the opposing team is a kind of sick, isn't it?
The thing is we don't know what it is. The effort was there for the most part but they couldn't make a pass to save their lives. There's no rhyme or reason for this to happen but it does. Leafs really didn't look good the whole game. It was only close in the 2nd because of Freddie. This team continues to baffle. They played their absolute best game on Thursday and tonight their worst. Funny thing is so many play horrible at the same time.Significantly Insignificant said:Okay, so what do we call this? I think unfortunately the leafs' record with Reilly/Ceci out is more representative of what to expect for the rest of the way. The leafs banked a fair number of wins with a middling defense, not the tire fire that remains.
I still hope that this Jekyll and Hyde team can reach the playoffs and then somehowBermudaBudsFan said:Even if by some miracle they get in, they have virtually no chance to advance.berserker said:This team now desperately needs to get into the playoffs and win a round or 2
