I know that the simplest explanation is more than likely the actual explanation. But… everything is so disingenuous with this group.
 
This Kirk funeral might be the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen. We are truly fucked as a society. You don’t even get 1/10th of this reaction when a school is shot up and children are murdered.

And honestly, full disclosure, I had no idea who Kirk was before this went down. Never heard of him and never saw anything by him.

A school was shot up at the same time. You'd think this guy was royalty. It's just being used by partisan hacks to further fuel the culture war because he was one of them.

Kirk/Turning Point is essentially a propaganda arm that gave an ‘academic/logical’ veneer and platform (thanks to his penchant for debate) to the Christian Nationalist/Dominionism movement that the GOP has enrobed itself in. In recent months, Kirk had been openly questioning what the Israeli government was doing to Gaza and was receiving significant pressure from his donors.

Quite interesting that the organization, after losing its last co-Founder, was so quickly dissolved and divvied up under the control of fellow Conservative ‘intellectual’ Ben Shapiro, immediately swinging it back to Zion-friendly messaging.

The ‘funeral’ was very, uh, red and black, and seemed to not really be about the guy that died.
