Idiocracy

Fox News growing a spine... not sure how this squares with Hannity/Carlson/Ingram being allowed to say this stuff though.

Unfortunately those guys make fox a boatload of money, Carlson gets pretty ridiculous ratings. I don't see them getting muzzled any time soon.

This guy lost his election by 73 points.

How is that even possible? That would mean he only got around 12% of the vote? Dude, even if there were thousands of fraudulent votes (which there weren?t), you still lost, and badly!

Not without a major change in direction, loss of advertising dollars, and/or massive drop in viewing audience. Definitely not any time soon, that?s for sure

I really need to stop going to Trump Twitter. He is saying now that the vaccine announcement was deliberately held back until after the election.

First of all it?s not an approved vaccine yet. Second of all the US government had no role with Pfizer?s research.

I do not even know why I?m obsessing over what is happening down there.

Bill Barr authorized the DOJ to investigate election fraud.  Holy hell I can?t wait for January when this train is over.  Consequences need to come of this corruption.

13.8%, actually. He ran against Karen Bass, a member of the House for 10 years and someone who was on Biden's shortlist to be VP.

Votes were 245,962 for Bass, 39,367 for him.

I think the reality is they are our biggest ally and trading partner, and set an example for the rest of the western world. What happens down there is important. At the same time I'm really trying to detach myself from the vortex because my overly paying attention to it, especially when I can't really affect any part of it can be a bad place to be in mentally.

In a district that hasn't elected a republican since 1990.

Any thoughts on Pfizer holding back the announcement of a potential vaccine until election was complete.

Is there evidence they held it back?

If I were Pfizer, I would have held it back.  Any news of a vaccine in the days prior to the election would have been treated with extreme skepticism by half of the US.  That half would have assumed the Trump administration had pressured Pfizer to release the data early and would be extremely suspicious of the data, the vaccine and Pfizer as a whole.

Until recently, the CDC was, ive heard, the most trustworthy health organization in the world. Trump destroyed that.  It would be natural for Pfizer to try to do what it could to avoid that fall.

There's no evidence they did but I 100% would wait until after the election. Pfizer had nothing to do with operation warp speed and he would have taken credit for this.

Another one. Klacik lost her district in Maryland 71.9% to 28.1% to Kweisi Mfume. That district has had a Democrat represent them in the House since 1953. It was previously Elijah Cummings' seat for 20+ years prior to his death. Before Cummings Mfume actually held it for 4 terms, he decided to run for re-election there after his death.

There's gonna be a lot of long-term effects from trumpism, but every wanna-be fascist crying about fraud in elections is gonna be really bad.

Hilariously enough - she didn't even win the in-person and early voting:

The thing is - there probably are cases of voting fraud; but a) it's not a single party issue.  I imagine there's just as many illegal Repub/Trump votes as there are Dem/Biden votes, so they likely balance out, and b) most of them get caught and aren't counted.  Of the ones that do get through, they're probably in the hundreds at the most - not the thousands that are needed to overturn any of these results.

Even hundreds is probably generous. I'd be surprised if the cases of actual fraud even hit the 3 figure mark. There may be a higher number of improperly cast ballots this election, but, even that's probably not a particularly high number - as you said, most of them would have been caught and not counted.

The Trumpists are on a fishing expedition, and, at best, they're coming back with minnows.

I mean they waiting until the election wasn't the dominant news story to make their announcement more meaningful.  Rather than releasing this on a Friday it makes more sense to release this on a Monday where you can get a better stock bump.  Bury bad news on a Friday, release good news at the start of the week.

As usual. It's always about the money.

There's 160M+ votes. Of course they're going to some fraud, improper voting, etc.

It could be in the 1000s. But none of it is statistically relevant.
