Speaking of cult leaders, after suspending several journalists, the big Twit joined a Spaces chat with other journalists (including some suspended ones) and couldn't last one question before bailing and subsequently disabling the Spaces feature entirely.

So glad I don't own a Tesla. My partner and I's lease is up and we were seriously contemplating getting a Tesla. He lost himself a customer after the repeated insane things he's done. Most obviously starting with calling the guy who saved the Thai soccer team stuck in a cave a "pedo" and who's defense was "it was a joke." friging jerk.

That went out the window the second he had actual control of Twitter. Now, he's just falling into the typical Republican approach of "if the vote doesn't go your way, it was rigged/fraudulent/whatever, so we need to change the rules to better suit me."

Funny, I have the same reaction now when I see Teslas on the road.  I had this perception of Musk as some intelligent, techie guy that founded these companies, never knowing he just bought them.  After all this I would never want to own anything he's involved with.  Yes there are other bad people in corporations and I'm sure I own products where some idiots are behind the scenes, but none are as publicly stupid as this guy is.  Just a repulsive person that I want no association with.

As much as I agree he's an awful person and his business acumen has become wildly overstated, I don't actually think he's stupid. He's just bought so heavily into his reputation that he can't get out of his own way. He's just become so mythologized over the years and it seems to have led him to believe he can do anything better than everyone else.
