Final Preliminary Round Robin games played Tuesday.

Team Canada dazed Team Finland 5-2 with the Toronto Maple Leafs' Mitch Marner garnering three points ( 2 goals, 1 assist) and helping Team Canada whiz by the Finns.

"I think they?re really fast," Finn Valtteri Filppula said of the United StatesTeam Canada. "They play that North American style, and you can?t turn the puck over. They?re going to turn the puck quick and go the other way. It?s going to be tough to chase. We?ve got to play really close defensively, play well, and hopefully turn those things into offence. We'll make sure we get the pucks in deep every time and hopefully spend some time in their zone."

Canada finishes the round robin with six wins and an overtime loss and first in their group with 19 pts.

Team Canada scored the go ahead goal in the second period and it was enough to defeat Team Germany 2-1 in Quarter-Final action Thursday.  German goaltender Philip Grubauer had a busy game in facing nearly 50 SOG, while Canada's Calvin Pickard faced just 20.

Canada scored first in the first period, but the Germans came back to tie it up.  It wasn't an easy game for the Canadians, not with Grubauer seeming to stop every shot.  Luckily, Canada found the net in the second period that really put the game away.  While the score could have been higher for Team Canada, considering Grubauer's superb netminding, Team Germany for that reason alone was lucky to go down in defeat by a goal.

Canada plays Russia in the Semi-Final on Saturday.

Team Canada rallied from a 2-0 deficit and scored four goals in the third period,  to stun Team Russia 4-2 on Saturday.

Kudos to the Canadians to battle the speedy Russians and overtake them in every department on the ice.  Canada will now play Team Sweden and for fans of the Toronto Maple Leafs, it'll be a treat watching Team Cansda  wonder boy Mitch Marner versus Team Sweden wunderkind William Nylander.

Game on!  GO CANADA GO!

My favourite thing about this tournament is how sad Canadian and Swedish players are going to be now that they aren't playing with Nylander and Marner anymore. Everybody on Team Sweden seemed to love Nylander and MacKinnon literally said he wanted to take Marner home with him.

Willie named tournament MVP.

It's almost getting embarrassing being a Leaf fan.

I have no regrets.

Backstrom also mentioned to the Swedish press that Nylander was one of the best he has ever played with.

Being a Leafs fan has never felt better!  :) :)

Congrats to the Tre Kronor.  Way to go, Willie!

Way to go to Marner, too!  Great tourney for Team Canada.
