Islanders @ Leafs - Mar. 9th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Don't like being critical of how goalies play breakaways, but that's the 2nd one where Sparks basically had no clue where the puck was after making the initial stop, and probably didn't really do enough to locate it.

Marincin coughs up the puck 3 times in a 20 second span. I don't get the love.

The "love" is that people think he's overall been really good and specific instances where errors occur don't change that.

Except that he's made a highlight collection of bonehead plays through the season, many of which have directly resulted in goals.

Don't like that Parenteau is on the half wall on the left side instead of Nylander. I get that's where he's played all season but I'd rather have them on separate units if they're going to do that.

Happy to be joining you all via sketchy Internet here at the Big Sky Inn in beautiful Deer Lodge, Montana.  BTW if you haven't been to Montana, put it on your list.  Pretty great.  Except for the Internet.

I think I've been through there. Isn't the biggest thing in town the prison?

Yeah, but also they have a national historic site which is very cool and some museums.

And hooray for Nylander!

He's played Tavares one-on-one pretty well all game long.

Yeah. Haven't really noticed him much tonight - like most nights. The bad plays are memorable, and they get exaggerated and overblown. He's a solid 3rd pairing type that can move up in the lineup for a game here and there in a pinch.

And to me he looked tentative coming out to challenge.

Ice-time for the D after 3 periods:

Gardiner 26:15
Rielly 25:57
Marincin 22:54
Carrick 21:36
Brennan 11:05
Corrado 9:48

Babcock has been riding his top-4 HARD the last few weeks, with Frankie Corrado being an unfortunate victim of that.

But not there!

I think he's also a victim of Babcock not having a lot of trust in Brennan.

It's not just a 1-game thing though. Corrado was getting pretty solid minutes in February but this makes it 5 of the last 6 games where he's been under 12 minutes.

I don't care if they thought that was a dive, Hyman kicked Tavares' ass there.

I care because it was a weak call to make it a dive.  The ref just didn't want to give a power play
