Game Notes

WPG
?Comrie (8-2-1, 2.39 GAA, .920 Sv%) will likely start for the Jets
?Kyle Connor and Nate Schmidt returned positive COVID-19 tests so they'll be in protocol for a few days
?The Jets were still able to beat the Sabres last night 3-2 in a shootout without those two. Hellebuyck picked up the win in the game so expected backup Eric Comrie to get this game
?Winnipeg currently sits 10th in the Western conference, but are in a pretty tight 3-team race for the final Wild Card spot with Vegas and Dallas

TOR
?Kallgren (3-2-1, 2.64 GAA, .911 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?Leafs lines are pretty up in the air at the moment since we haven't been given an update on the injured players from Tuesday's game
?Kallgren likely starts with Hutchinson being called up to serve as his back-up
?The Leafs also recalled Mac Hollowell and Filip Kral from the Marlies, which probably points to Holl and/or Lyubushkin missing at least a game with their injuries
?Nick Abruzzese watch is back on

?Kyle Connor - COVID-19 Protocol - Out
?Nate Schmidt - COVID-19 Protocol - Out

You know I always regretted not taking the @CarltonTheBear handle on twitter. Could have probably traded it for some sweet gear. My personal account, which I only ever really just lurk on, was created a few months before that one was.

Speaking of bears:

Hey, it's Nik Antropov!

So no Lyubushkin, but Holl is good to play and will get a look with Giordano this time.

I'm hoping for a little payback tonight after the 1st game and the Jets acting like they won the Stanley Cup. I want to see Simmonds smack Stanley around and anyone to take a run at Pionk.

This is some 4D chess to try to get all our old guys properly injured so they don't feel so bad about getting scratched in the playoffs, right

Win the game first for me - then worry about all that other stuff...

Yeah I really don't agree at all with dressing a line-up primarily to get revenge for a game that happened almost 120 days ago, but even if you want both Simmonds and Clifford in the line-up it should be Spezza that comes out as a result.

Would have loved to see the Leafs call up Douglas for this one. Between Stanley or Dubois one of them or both need to be put in their place. Hopefully see some pushback from the Leafs tonight.

Spezza has some skin in this game as well. Remember who went after Pionk? I don't mind Keefe doing this at all.

I remember him getting suspended for 6-then-4 games, yeah.

They got him to 1000 games, and there's two more games against the Flyers. I don't think we see Simmonds much more on the ice after those games.

Spezza needs 9 more points to hit 1000 regular season pts. We'll see him against a few of the bottom feeders, but LTIR will help us give him more load management.

Clifford just needs to paste a guy every shift and we won't care what else he does. At least he can still catch up to the play.

Man I really wanted Spezza to hit 1000 points this season. But with just 16 games left that ain't happening. Wonder what his future holds.

I think he'll be more discreet this time around and he isn't afraid to drop the gloves. Who knows maybe he went to Keefe and asked him to stay in the lineup?

Clifford made a few good hits against Boston. I think/hope he and Simmonds do some banging tonight.

Keefe using this game as a show-me butt kick for the old guys
