Game Notes

WPG
?Hellebuyck (4-3-1, 2.99 GAA, .907 Sv%) will likely start for the Jets
?The Jets are coming off a 2-1 win over Detroit on Friday. They outshot the Wings 40-28 and had back-up Laurent Brossoit in net
?Laine was dropped back down to the 2nd line for the game and did not record a point. He's now pointless in 4 straight games and has 3 goals and 2 assists in 11 games. B-B-B-B-UUUSSSTTTTT

TOR
?Andersen (5-3-0, 2.66 GAA, .916 Sv%) will likely start for the Leafs
?The Leafs will try and get back up to .500 at home. They're currently 2-3 at the SBA and lost their last two games there by a combined score of 7-1
?Dermott is still out with some kind of illness, so Marinciganov will remain a thing on the bottom pairing
?Hainsey left Wednesday's game late in the 3rd but was deemed ready to play at practice on Friday
?Gardiner and Ennis will both be playing in their 500th career NHL games. Gardiner of course has played all 500 with the Leafs

Nylander needs to sign. Kadri desperately needs a winger who can score and create offense.

Also, keeping the entire planet on hold like he has is getting tiresome.

I think Kadri is getting his chances just fine, he's just running at a 4.5% SH%.

That should normalize somewhat to his career average of 11.8%.  He's playing well, and I think Brown and Lindholm are pulling their weight against some difficult competition.

Yeah. Lindholm is sneaky effective. He's cycling into centre duties on Kadri's wing during the flow of the play. If he had any more speed, I think we'd notice him more, but he plays smart and we just haven't seen results yet as he adjusts to the league and playing wing (for the first time in his career).

Connor Brown is what he is, and he basically plays at the level of the line's driver, no more, and (very) occasionally less. Fortunately, Kadri is still really good, and while it would be nice to give him someone with more pop to work with, the line's (slightly ambiguous) role is to zero out the opponent in home games. Nylander's return will help add more scoring depth to Kadri's wing one way or another.

He does need a haircut.  His hair looks like mine in my high school grad photo, and by God no man should look like that.

I woke up immediately after a dream in which the Leafs gave up the game-winning goal on a shot from the other end of the ice.  I'm pretty sure it was also Bernier in net, for some reason.

I hope none of this has any relevance to tonight's game.

I need more detail.  Were you playing?

Felt like I was an ice-level observer who wasn't playing.  Not dissimilar to the gif that Herman posted of Bernier, except that this one went mid-high glove side.  I think it was a 3-2 final.

Could've been worse.

Could've been Toskala

That was kind of a lame call. Kadri kind of held up, Trouba  turned and then retaliated and no call. Power play goal to boot.
