Reeves was a difference maker in this game, Frig the haters

He was a difference maker in the first 2 games of the season and then disappeared, so we'll see what happens. Nevertheless, great win for the team. Enjoy the break everyone.

They?re going to give Reaves the belt tonight and then trade him lol

A month ago I would have put money down that Samsonov was done as a Leaf. Hockey can be weird sometimes. Great to see Sammy playing well again

Yes Samsonov was incredible, again. Also thought Bertuzzi was very strong. Robertson playing with a lot of energy too. Hopefully this continues after the long break.

For those reading this thread tomorrow morning, please join us in booing vociferously and vigorously.

Not quite tomorrow yet, but .........WTF? That was called off?

Not enough games to be truly conclusive but ..

Samsonov since returning:

4GP 3W 1L .750 pts win%
.940 save%
1.48 GAA

He's played well in every game.

When Woll returns, we might have 3 half decent goalies.
That was not what I was thinking when Jones got called up.

Pierre Lambert reffed both games, but not the ref on the Edmonton goal (Francis Charron), and I can?t tell which one was on the Toronto goal.

Situation room is apparently only there to adjudicate the call on the ice, not the actual ruling.

This is what kind of blows my mind. The situation room is given the opportunity to take all the time in the world and look at every single angle possible when it goes up to them, but for some reason they're still forced to take into consideration that quite possibly incorrect call that was made in a split second on the ice?

NHL doesn?t want to embarrass their refs (who are probably very hard to hire at this point! I wonder why), but keeps hanging them out to dry in embarrassing situations by asking them to ?manage? the game. Why bother to even have a rule book if they?re only apply it when it suits them?

I'm not sure anyone saw this turnaround coming from Samsonov, but on the other hand we should have all seen it coming because goalies are voodoo. Who knows what happens next.

Vezina? Hart? Stanley Cup?

Samsonov's issues were clearly not mechanical (unlike Murray/Andersen when injury slowed down movements), but between the ears in decision-making, save selection, and focus/tracking. I didn't think he'd resolve it this season (or even with this team), but it's nice to see him come through these last couple of games when the top 6 and Jones were sputtering.

Confidence is a crazy thing in players with exposed roles (Goalies, Pitchers, Quarterbacks). It looked like Samsonov never got into a flow-state this season until after this demotion break (arbitration + newborn sleep deprivation + contract season).

That?s the part that confused me the most as I quickly looked through the rule book and I didn?t see any reference to ?accidental interference? - so far as I can tell he just made up a rule.
