This was the hit:

Seems pretty excessive to me. But oh well, go tank!

That seems like too much, although I'd care a lot more if the season was different.  He's a repeat offender for suspensions too, right?

Yeah, I guess that probably added a game or two to the total.

4 games seems about right for a repeat offender. He's pretty reckless out there at times, I don't think he intended to hurt anyone on this play though.

Thought it would be 2 games max but forget about the repeat offender label. Not that it really matters at this point.

Has ovechkin been suspended for the hit on komarov yet?....

Oh yeah different standards for different teams/players.......

I asked this in another thread, but does this put Kadri further into the dog house with Shanahan?  Is this something that tips the scales more toward trade than keep??

If the season were longer and the Leafs were still in a race I would be extremely annoyed at this.  But they aren't so I don't care.

4 games seems a little extreme to me.  But again, it helps the Leafs lose the next few games and that is good.

He has not done anything in the past 15 games anyways. How is this going to make the Leafs any worse?

7pts and 4 goals is better than the majority of his teammates.

They're still reviewing what impact of applying the rules evenly might have on the Caps' bottom line.  MLSE can afford this, so no need to draw it out.

Thats why kessel only was suspended preseason games for swinging his stick like a baseball bat.

Really thought he deserved more than he got there. He went back "hunting" and took several baseball swings right at what's-his-names ankles while he was tied up with other players. Looked like one of the more obvious cases of "intent to injure".

He took 2 swings.  One when Scott was coming at him that hit Scott on the front of his hockey pants around the front of the thigh area, and a second swing that seems to have maybe hit Scott in the skate, maybe in the blade, or maybe not at all.  It's hard to tell from the angle.

Also, I would hope no baseball players swing like that.
