But I love the Leafs more and you have to do what is in the best long term interests of the Leafs, so probably you move him and then you can always talk to him again in the summer if needs be similar to the likes of Winnik. I think he'll get a better deal elsewhere as a UFA than I'd be willing to give him now, but that may change should others move on also (Bozak, JVR primarily)
Arn said:I would say that's fair - I can definitely see someone potentially offering a little more than you may normally expect due to "intangibles" and "grit" that would associated with the type of player Komarov is

Yeah. As was pointed out earlier in this thread, look at what Winnik returned - both as a pending UFA and when signed for an additional season. I'd say that's your baseline for a return on Komarov.

Without a doubt, Komarov for a 3rd round pick seems rather low but I don't think he'd garner more than Boyle did last year. Two 2nd round picks was suggested earlier and I think that is a pipe-dream. If that offer is on the table somewhere, I don't hesitate to trade Komarov despite the amount I've said "keep" in this thread.

In his last three years seasons, Komarov racked up around 450 penalty minutes while scoring at a .45 ppg pace. Comparatively, Boyle played less on the PK(in more games) and scored at a significantly lower pace(.30).
I don't exactly know what the offer would be but I think a pretty compelling case can be made that Komarov is more valuable than Boyle.
Frank E said:And I've got Winnik at .29ppg since beginning of 2015-2016 during regular season games.
With the lovely user experience/ease of use of nhl.com stats, I'm having trouble getting his PK time, but I imagine it's not as significant as Komarov's.
I think Komarov is a significantly more valuable piece than either Winnik or Boyle.
