Leafs @ Bruins - Dec. 10th, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

I don't know if it was on this site or another someone mentioned how Andersen was good at handling the puck.  I don't know if it's because he looks so nonchalant but I disagree.

I said that here and I stand by it. He's often been a big asset back there for an overworked defense.

Nik I disagree. Beginning of the year I could understand it as he was new to the team. But way too often I've seen him throw it into one of the D 's skates or coughs it up. Could of easily fired it around the boards there and could have smothered it as well. Love the way he's been playing last 2  months and only reason we r in this game tonight after that lack lustre first period but personally I think he has to be more assertive. Like I said he does everything so nonchalant.

Andersen is adequate at puck handling, shit happens.

IMO goalies should stay in the net. Again IMO

A team who's goalie never leaves the crease to play the puck would be at a massive disadvantage in every single game. IMO.

We'll ever time he leaves the net something shitty happens!

They have to play it like Nik says to help the D. But personally they have to set it up for the D or move it and yes s**t happens but that was a gong show. Had a chance to freeze it to.

It's a joke. A two-minute penalty in exchange for a superstar out for possibly 6-8 weeks. That's not even approaching the realm of a fair trade.
"Oh it's a penalty. A penalty." Who cares. Protect the stars NHL. It's already a watered-down, hard-cap league.

Ok. Anecdotally, I've seen him snuff out countless chances with his smart playing of the puck.

Every time you see an argument like that, think "Bertuzzi". The League is never going to give guys license to just attack each other if they think they've unfairly targeted one of their stars. It would be insane.

And, if they go the other way, and start penalizing and suspending players every time someone gets hurt, that's when you'll really see the physical play getting taken out of the game. The league is in a tough spot when it comes to some of these situations.
