Leafs @ Bruins - Feb. 3rd, 7:00pm - CBC, TSN 1050

This has been a complete beating, but I wouldn't read too much into it.  Bruins are red-hot, this is our 3rd game in 4 nights, and Andersen has been off.  It should be a wake-up call to Auston tho.
This is what I was saying last night. Leafs 3 games in 4 nights, both Rielly and Hainsey not in game shape as they've been off, Andersen off night, Matthews not himself.

People seem to be so concerned that Leafs can't beat the Bruins but coming into last night they had won the last 6 in a row against Boston including 2 this season.  I think Boston had more of a point to make and they were able to jump on a Leafs team that wasn't at it best.

Sure you could say that Boston wasn't playing as well earlier in the season when the Leafs beat them twice, but last night was no indication that Boston is a far superior team, Leafs were up against it before the game even started.

That was a poor game for the Leafs effort wise. I believe Boston got away with one, as our team was a step or two off there game. Maybe it was due to the lineup changes, maybe not.  Maybe it was just that we were on our third in four nights, or not.  None the less we had better make up for it Monday.

A bigger test will be against TBL this week.  But I think I already know the answer.  The Leafs can run with the best teams in the league IF they are playing at their best.  Anything less and you see games like last night.  The best teams can play a level or two below their best and still beat us if we aren't at our best.  We are still a few pieces away from being a real contender.
