Line-up Notes

?Another B2B so both goalies will likely play, guessing Bernier goes first
?D'Amigo was sent down and Holland brought back up
?Logically the plan would be for Holland to play somewhere in the top-9, so I have him projected on the 4th line

?Rask likely starts for Boston
?Hamilton missed practice on Monday and his status is questionable

My moneys on Holland on the 2nd, and Kadri on the third. Like I said, Nonis did not bring him up and blow a 2nd, to let RC play him on the fourth with the goon squad.

Leafs step up, Kessel steps up, BOS crowd shuts up.  Tight game, it goes to a shootout, and Leafs win 5-2.

I think I'd actually give Reimer this game, with all the motivation against Boston and such, but since Bernier won last time, I'm assuming he'll go.

I'd like to see:

Lupul - Kadri - Kulemin
Raymond - Holland - Clarkson

Which gives you essentially a 2A and 2B.  Plus see if we can recapture that Lup-Kad-Kul mad chemistry.

Does Holland's callup mean that RC has promised Nonis to give him proper minutes, do we think?

I was just coming to post a similar thing, however...

This is what I've wanted since Bozak came back. Puts Lupul and Kulemin on their proper sides (they've both been playing out of position for about a month), and reunites our second most productive line from last season.

Kulemin has struggled offensively for over 2 seasons now.  He gets at least one great opportunity a game and doesn't convert.  I don't think its because he is playing on his wrong side.

Let him play with McClement on a checking role against the other teams first line.  That's where he will be most useful.

I think all he needs is the right line mates to get him going.

a 12 goal pace over 82 games?  That's a pretty low bar for someone we want to be in a top 4 winger position.

I recall last year kind of being that Kadri had magic with Frattin to start off, and then Kadri having magic with Lupul.  I don't remember Kulemin being an integral part of the equation other than a few good games here and there.

He was on pace for 40 points, while starting only 35% of his shifts in the offensive zone.  Only McClement's % of offensive zone starts was lower on the team.  Add to that the fact that he didn't get any PP time, and 40 points is perfectly fine for a player saddled with tough defensive minutes and given few offensive opportunities.

In the last full season, 40 points would put you 138th among forwards.  30 teams of top 6 players is 180 players.

How is that not considered good production?

{Kulemin checks hard, causing turnover} + {Lupul/Kadri gets puck} + {sets up Kadri/Lupul} = GOAL

Of course when that happens it doesn't guarantee Koolie an assist (I can think of a couple where he didn't get one despite starting the play).
