Line-up Notes
TOR
?Leafs are having a better Western road trip north of the border, sweeping the Alberta teams in both resounding and hilarious fashion; Vancouver looks to be a tougher test than expected with the rise of their youth movement and Leafs-alumnus Travis Green's approach behind the bench
?The Leafs split the series with Vancouver last season in spirited affairs that saw a lot of stupid extra-curriculars and questionable hits overshadow the talent on display; expect to hear some Taylor Swift over the loudspeakers between plays
?It's a 2014 first round draft pick undercard, with both Nylander and Virtanen squaring off in the 4th line bracket; Nylander is on fire with 6 pts in his last 4 games (1G,5A); Virtanen has been scratched 4 times so far and has 6 pts on the season

VAN
?Brock Boeser will be a player to watch; he was named Rookie of the Month for November, and has the early lead in Calder chatter
?Daniel Sedin became the 2nd player in franchise history to reach 1000 pts on November 30th; he was preceded by his brother, Henrik, making them the first pair of brothers to both hit 1000 pts
?In less happy news, Derek Dorsett's career has come to a close following yet another cervical disk herniation adjacent to his previous surgically-repaired injury; he scored 7 goals in 20 games this season before being held out Nov 21 with neck stiffness

Injuries

?Nathan Horton - Back - Out indefinitely
?Joffrey Lupul - Actually Injured - Out indefinitely
?CarltonTheBear - Personal Leave - Day-to-day
Code:

?Brandon Sutter - Upper Body - Day-to-Day
?Eric Gudbranson - Upper Body - Injured Reserve (mid-Dec)
?Derek Dorsett - Upper Body - Injured Reserve (out for the season)

Good evening, forum. I'll be your substitute Game Day Thread starter for the week as Carlton is on the road.

Lineups are very preliminary. Both teams played on Thursday, and didn't have a practice Friday, so who knows what the coaches will throw out there?

Green is trying out a super line with Goldobin-Horvat-Boeser and that should be fun. Babcock has been trying to make our lines really boring.

Wayne and Brent Gretzky

Yep, that's it.  Most people say the Sutters.  The Sedins are getting close though.

But... none of that is true.  The Gretzky brothers had 2861 NHL points.  The Sutters had more, combining for 2934.  And the Sedins only have 2037, so they're nowhere close.

I prefer alternative facts.

I guess you are right.  Thought the Gretzky's had more.  I thought the record was in the 2500's.

The get the Gretzky answer, SI, they usually ask for the highest scoring pair of brothers.

Maybe that's it.  I'm trying to think of where I heard that answer before.  Oh well.  Now I am going to go check to see if Tim Kerr still holds the record for PP goals in a season.
