It's funny, but for years I've thought of the Coyotes as being a team that's put up good records despite a terrible looking roster but right now that doesn't look like such a bad collection of players. Obviously there's not much in the way of star power up front but other than that it's not all that bad.

Their forwards are still missing that one top guy, but that's a heck of a defence.

I was a bit surprised looking at their team stats too. Good GF and PP, bad GA and PK. Usually it's the other way around for them.

I just hope that we can use some of the energy from Saturday. GLG

Personally I'm surprised Hanzal wasn't suspended or fined after the last Vancouver game. A slash to Sedin in the ribs, a cross-check to the high shoulder of another (Santorelli I think) and a cross check to the side of Booth's head....but I guess a double minor is okay for that shift.
EDIT I just noticed the $5000 fine

If I weren't falling in manlove with Rielly and (to a lesser extent) Gardiner I'd swap ours for theirs like, yesterday.

On an unrelated note, it's -4F today here and this is one of the very few times of the year I wouldn't mind actually being in Phoenix.

I'd probably pee myself if Rielly and Gardiner became as good as the OEL/Yandle combo.

I am going to the game tonight..I am stoked beyond belief?I bleed Blue and White but have to admit a soft spot for the Yotes as I am spending so much time in AZ.
And Dappleganger, start making more kids

Any news on the starter. I would think they would play Bernier against COL because they are the better team?

Yeah, give that team an offensive catalyst up front and they could do some damage.

You guys are funny.

I've already started to warp her mind. I told her Mats Sundin is the greatest player to ever play the game and Toronto has won the most Stanley Cups.  ;D

Oh dear. I agree with the Mats part, but when she learns how to read your in trouble LOL. GLG

Pay attention to your country's anthem, Phil.  You'll want to look interested when the cams come in for your close-up after you and your mates take the gold in Sochi.

It wasn't an egregious play, but the Coyotes player leaned in to Ashton's back and it affected his ability to get that shot off.  Maybe not a penalty but I think I've seen weaker plays get called.

Ashton is much too skilled for a Carlyle 4th line. Get him out of there and get McLaren in for gods sake

No penalty for the Coyotes guy wrapping his arms around Ashton?  I'm fairly sure Leafs have had a penalty shot called against them this season for the same thing.
