Leafs @ Ducks - Jan. 14th, 10:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

Suter got 2 games for one the other day, refs missed that one too.

The 1st line skate to the opposing blue line while their d has it deep in their own zone has happened 4 times since the start of the period.

It makes my blood boil almost as much as every shot of David Clarkson.

Carrick's this years Andrew MacWilliam. Nobody hears about that guy anymore huh.

Like many a young depth player who looks good in pre-season, he's been completely forgotten and passed over. These guys fall down the depth chart pretty quickly.

I keep seeing Kessel circle in the d zone while the d carry it out or pass it to him.  But I wouldn't expect to see it every play.

Boiling blood should be checked out with your doctor.

Also, considering the score, some cheating to try to create offence should be expected. It wasn't something that was really happening before Anaheim went up by 3. I don't mind it when the team is down by a few. It's really more of an issue in close games.

Analytic  numbers we won.

I would rather be out shot and win. It would be nice to see a goal for some time soon.

So...

New coach =  few(er) goals, fewer shots allowed, shutout/shutdown, better balanced effort/improved possession game
Old coach  =  more goals, more shots allowed,  either on or sputtering, poor coordinaton defensively/poor possession game

... okay, which one would you rather have?

I only watched the first period, but it looked like they got some chances. I was surprised to find out they had been shut out again.

It's a road trip against teams we know are superior, new coach has only been behind the bench 4 games, and they're missing some key pieces (Holland, Komarov, Lupul). I'm still not going to read too much into these losses, but the shut outs still sting.

I suppose I'm a sub-prime fan for not watching these super late games, so can someone tell me how Kadri has been looking lately?

Good on the Face-offs over the last two games. Other then then that not much to say. He was getting thrown around by Getzlaf last night.

For this season I'd rather win the possession battle and lose the games. We've all already seen the same story over and over again when we lose that battle but win the games. You've heard that probably-fake definition of insanity by Einstein, right? Be patient. Let the Leafs work out their issues, the same issues we've been seeing for years now. If being a better team in the future means maybe sacrificing this season then so be it.

Yeah I'd much rather a constructive loss than a lucky win.

Though I do like winning.

Short term pain, long term gain.

Please don't use the definition of insanity with regards to this team. If we followed it, there should have been changes to the core after the 2nd and 3rd collapse.

You act like it's been forever since they scored.  Scoring slumps happen.  Leafs had 5 or more years of being outshot and losing more games than they've won.

You have to admit that games are not fun to watch as we continue to be shutout.
