Leafs Get Andersen from Ducks

If Reimer can't land a #1 job I wonder if there's any chance we let Bernier go and use the money to sign Reimer at around $3m??
2 good goalies for $8m total salary isn't too bad.

Probably too expensive as we'd presumably need to retain some of Bernier's salary. Unless the team can recoup a decent asset then may as well keep Bernier for now.

That's exactly what I was thinking as well.

$5M per year; modified-NTC after next year (list of 10 teams to not trade with); signing bonuses in second last ($3M) and last year ($4M).

Assuming all goes according to Swedish news: yay! Enroth!

On the other hand...
Bernier + Enroth
vs
Andersen (for 5 years) + Enroth - 850k cap space - 2016 30th overall - 2017 2nd rder + 2017 impossible pick

Keep in mind that I actually like Andersen as a goalie for us and I think he'd be a good fit for our system going forward. From my more conservative asset management perspective, that's iffy. From an opportunity cost perspective, I don't have a great grasp on which goalies would've been available on the market next season.

The list is not very compelling in terms of a goaltender that can grow with the team.

These ones would cost assets and be a bit harder to project. Hellebuyck might be the only one that piques my interest.

There's qualifying tournaments going on right now among the lower-ranked teams for the 2018 Olympics. Even though the NHL hasn't confirmed they'll be sending their players to Pyeongchang NHLers are still allowed to compete in the qualifying games. That's where Andersen was playing if anyone was wondering.

Looks like his right arm took the brunt of that big boy fall. So nice to have so many key players in tournaments before our season starts.

Yeah I mean I wouldn't actually be all that bummed out if this caused him to miss action.

Hard to tell with goalies and all, but, in my non-professional opinion, I'd say we're looking at minor soreness that limits mobility of his arm for a week or so.

You guys ready for a scorching hot take? Because of a combination of poor performance and potential injury, Enroth starts more games than Andersen this year.
