The Isles fans can go home smug and happy because this was their Stanley Cup.

I'm not sure I see the Isles with less chance at Cup as Leafs right now.

OK, let's stand back and be objective.  The Leafs are suspect on D.  Dubas addressed it by getting Muzzin, who is a quality defenseman who is having a string of bad games right now.  They looked steadier for sure his first few games.  He needs to get back to normal.  If he does, and Gardiner and Dermott are back, then the Leafs will have their best chance to advance.  But sooner or later they are going to have to part with Johnsson or Kapanen or both I fear, because they have to get better back there.

Not sure It's going to be easy to ever be at the top with the number of high contracts we are about to own?? And I literally meant right now as in this year. I think the Isles might actually be in a better place than the Leafs this year.

You can't really single out one or two players to blame for our performance tonight, but I find it really alarming to compare the Leafs' goaltending tandem to the Bruins (Rask-Halak) and TB (Back-up Louis Domingue is having an incredible game against the Bruins tonight). Our most serious lack of depth is at the goalie position.

What is concerning is that it seems in high pressure games they dont perform as well.

The Montreal comeback was less than a week ago come on people.

Look, that game was nowhere near as intense as this one.  Everyone knew this was a big game.  They failed.

Nope this isn't a big game, yesterday against the Oilers was and Leafs passed with flying colours.

If the proposition is that all games are the same, I don?t agree.

The proposition is you or I don't get to say which games are bigger than any other.

This is the team that will beat the bruins though, so nothing to worry about.
Your Eeyore schtick is getting old.

The complaints are legit. You just don?t want to hear them.
Could you ask Azzurri how he's doing for me?

Deflect all you want.  Doesn?t change the reality. To win the leafs have to go through Tampa and Boston. And they are nowhere near matching their compete level.

I think the hope was to roll the dice on the goalie that won the Calder Cup last year. It's hard to say if he's a legit backup at this point but man the team really didn't do anything to help him. The tone was set after that 3 on 1.

Yeah, that?s not true.

Bringing Liljegren up into this right now is a horrible idea. You'd have been better off trading him than calling on him now

Bringing him into what? A team that's gone 5-4-1 in their last 10?

I don't know about that. Sparks made some big saves tonight. With a competent defense group, and decent team defense, the goaltending might not look so bad

Hyman and Ennis were the best Leafs tonight.

I'm finding it a little hard right now to forgive Ennis for giving up the puck prior to their shorthanded goal to go up 3-1.

And 9-4-2 in Feb. I don't see an issue giving him a shot.

I didn't really watch after the 1st period, but on back to backs with their backup goalie, I am not the least bit surprised by how this game went.

Sparks wasn't outstanding but he certainly wasn't the problem tonight. Team, as a whole stunk.

Oh, I don't know... Getting beat the shit out of night after night? They're currently pretty beat up as a result. How's Dermott? How about Kadri? Wouldn't be surprised if Muzzin goes day to day after the punishment tonight. Good call, bring the young man up and watch his confidence shatter

True, but he went into the heavy areas all night and skated with some authority.  More noticeable than all the big fellows.
