Leafs @ Jets - Apr. 22nd, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

Atta boys!

Foligno with a somewhat unremarkable night but seemed to do a lot of the little things well. Good stand in for Hyman til he gets back, but man when Hyman's forecheck isn't there you really do notice it.

I thought he Leafs forechecked well all night.

Brooksy gotta shoot

He's played well enough to stick in the lineup for now.
I like his game. Always did.

I missed the second and third but from what I've seen of Brooks, he looks like the kind of player who could have a long career as a 3rd or 4th liner. Seems smart, skates well enough, has some skill which may show itself more over time.

Pretty shaky 1st but they really settled down as the game went on. I thought Thornton had one of his better games, nice game for Simmonds too. Jack is back!

63 points with 9 games left.  Calgary at 41 points with 11 games left.  Leafs can clinch the playoffs if the Flames don?t win tomorrow

Vancouver can still technically catch the Leafs too, so I don't think they can clinch just yet.  But soon!

Im not taking anything away from them, just saying Hyman is more noticeable and really good at it.

The Leafs are one point away from clinching the playoff, as Calgary and Vancouver play each other 4 times.  They would both need to win every game to tie us.

I found Foligno to be quite effective considering he had very little practice time with the team and was put into a game against the Leafs closest competition. He hit everything that moved. He was hard on the puck. He got under Dubois skin. Exactly what the Leafs need.

I think when Hyman comes back, he goes to the 3rd line with Kerfoot

Except that, if Vancouver wins them all, they can pass the Leafs, and Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Montreal can all afford to lose their games against the Canucks and still pass the Leafs. They need to clear 3 teams. So far, they've cleared one (Ottawa) and could clear another tonight if Calgary loses. They'd still need to get clear of Vancouver. They're 1 point away from clearing Calgary, but 3 from clinching a playoff spot.

Since herman isn't here I'll just speak for him and say Nylander looks great out there.

Agree, I think Foligno stays with M&M so Keefe gets his checking line.
