LOL... Andersen with a .928 sv%, but he's not good enough to win for us... Riiiiight...
People are so knee jerk...
It ain't. 928 after tonight

Is that your justification why we can't win with Andersen?  Because tonight's game will drop his sv% a bit?

Well. Reality check time. No excuses, but ....the Leafs are still on the up swing and the Lightning have already ?swung up? and for a few years now. So patience is still in order with this club. Lets hope for some lucky matchups come playoff time. Oh and did I ever mention I think a trade is in order for some ?D? ?  ???
Yeah one nice right handed d to stabilize the top 2 pairings would be ideal.

Rielly-niceRighty
Gardiner-Dermott

Sucks to be down tonight cause they played well overall

Yeah. I think finding that guy will come at the expense of the offence but I think they can afford that price .

To put this all on Freddie is being short sighted. Hainsey messed up on  the third  goal and Dermott got caught pinching on the 2nd. Bab's gets an F to for putting the 4th line out after a goal.
And contrary to popular belief, this isn't a big game. It's one of 82 that gets them into the playoffs. 50 games to go.
I mean mistakes are gonna happen, but you expect your goalie to save a fairly routine back hand especially considering what the other goalie is doing tonight. After dominating the entire period and he lets that garbage in for the 3rd goal?

A) it was a very nice against the grain shot
B) Andersen didn?t have much work that period and I suspect got a bit cold

Don?t always have to take an apologetic position.

Don?t always have to take the apocalyptic position.
Switch goalies tonight and what's the score?
And how many games has Freddie won for the Leafs this year when they were outplayed. I have a, sense that Bab's will be happy with the Leafs overall game tonight. For the record there is no such a thing as a routine backhand. And what the other goalie is doing has no bearing on anything. If the Leafs don't hit the post 4 or 5 times they're way up. Game of inches. Relax and enjoy the game, not the score. One of the better Leafs game in a while offensively. Still need help on D tho.

No the entire conversation is Andersen in "big moments". Sure this is just a regular season game but it's #1 vs #2. They'll say it's just another game but the players know it's a measuring stick game.  He wasn't up to the task. Just like in the 2 previous playoffs he was was the 2nd best goalie in both series.

This isn't a big moment.  Anyone who thinks it's a big moment is distracting themselves from playing the game at hand.
Just like his 950 sv% in a game against Boston doesn't mean anything by itself.

He had a .950 sv% against Boston on Nov 26th.  Your move.

Like I asked.  What?s his sv % in Tampa and Boston games?

15/19 Tampa tonight
22/28 Boston 12/8
38/40 Boston 11/26

Total = 75/87 for an .862 save %.

So I guess we don't really want to try and get home ice in the playoffs by catching Tampa? Playing head to head against the division leader is a big moment for playoff positions. Had they won the Leafs were 4 back.

And by the way, in 2015-2016, Andersen had a 947 sv% in the playoffs.  So the entire theory he sucks in big games is a load of horseshit.

For the leafs, it?s certainly the case.

45-19 shots and down 3.  But the goalie has nothing to do with it and the game didn?t matter anyway.

No, no, no.  You people are asserting that he can't handle big games, and have decided that games against Boston and Tampa Bay are classified as big games.  A .950 against Boston proves the entire assertion WRONG, because he HAS handled big games.

Team knows that just throw the puck towards the net and Andersen is gonna give up a soft one every once a while, not to mention that the Leafs defense is weak.
