McLaren to the dressing room. How is Randy going work around that?!?

Forfeit.

The Simpsons has a quote for every moment in life:

Bart: No. I got hit by a couple of cars. I won't be able to play today.
  Girl: Yes!
Homer: Oh, boy. Well, I'll just have to go to my backup plan. Nelson, hows
        your arm feeling?
Nelson: Great!
Homer: Good. Take this note over to the referee.
Nelson: We forfeit?

Seriously, I don't get the negativity about Raymond.  For a walk-on he's produced tremendously.  That was a hell of a shot.

Other than the one shot a week or two that manages to find the back of the net his play has really been underwhelming since a good October. He's not very good defensively and he doesn't really create very much offence himself.

I get that he's scored a lot of goals, more than anybody could have ever imagined really, but a player can score a lot of goals and still not be very good. He's pretty much Jason Blake.

I don't agree, but on this -- you're kidding, right?

Honestly I think it's a spot-on comparison and can't believe I never saw it earlier.

Yeah, me too. The second you mentioned it, it was like something clicked in my head. Take away the salary and age difference, and you basically have the same player.

Wow.

Blake was a spectacularly ineffective puckhog.  I still have visions of him blasting down the wing, circling the goal, and giving the puck up ... over and over again.  The goal Raymond scored tonight was never anywhere in Blake's repertoire.

Not to mention the massive difference in their salaries.

Er, I know, that's why I compared him to Raymond. Raymond doesn't have the "selfish" tag, but there's been plenty of instances where he hangs onto the puck for far too long before giving it away because he doesn't know what to do with it.

I don't really use a players contract when I compare their playing styles.

The funny thing is that most of us have seen the exact same play you describe by Raymond many times this season.

Have you forgotten the patented spin-o-rama into the crest move?

That play behind the net right there, where Clarkson hogged the puck and refused to give it to a wide open Lupul, is a perfect example of why Clarkson is brutal offensively, and actually screws up line chemistry.

I haven't.  Seriously, there is no comparison.

I never said they were the exact same player. Blake's hair was also blonde.

I never said you did either, but you called it a spot-on comparison.  I think there's a world of difference, and yes, if you are going to compare players, the salary difference does matter.

Blake could score nice goals too: http://youtu.be/471FjRtdMRs?t=32s

Almost all of them with the Isles that one year.  8) :o :P

I'm not comparing their value to the team, I'm comparing how they look on the ice and the they aren't wearing their cap figure on their jersey.
