Michael Hutchinson has started 3 games for the Leafs this season.
He is 2-1-0 and has given up 7 goals against, 2 of which were PP goals by Calgary, for an all situations Sv% of 0.924 (0.926 at evens).

Thank you for the super jinx.

3-1-0 0.943 you are welcome

Credit to Hutch. He looked leaky in his first start, but has been great since.

goalie-performance agnosticism

Are you sure you want this in the public record?

It's not my first time saying that this is my platonic ideal for the team in terms of defensive structure. Play in such a way that goaltending just needs to be the bare minimum (1.5-3M per year per goalie, e.g. ~6% of Cap). Any performance above and beyond is a lovely bonus that makes it easier for the team.

Looks like a cross-check to the head. If DoPS was serious, it would be a long suspension. As they're not, I suspect it will be 1 or 2 games.

DoPS incompetence aside, I know the dev team's work with Vesey is actually effective because Vesey got crosschecked in the head and did not fall.

Just browsing twitter it's amazing how triggered fans of other teams are at the Leafs success. "The division sucks!", "Why don't you look at points % Tampa is better", "Leafs will still lose in round 1!"

It's like other fans don't want Leafs fans to have any enjoyment at all.
I don't listen to other teams fans. Heck I hardly listen to you guys. ;)

I checked the end of the game and the broadcast didn't pick this up, but it happened right at the end. This was the aftermath, worth pointing out the Oilers were holding the puck behind their own net to end the game so it happened about as far away from the play as possible:

Chiasson was given a 5 minute major for cross checking and a 10 minute game misconduct at the end of the game.

They should carry over the Major to start wednesdays game

What a stupid time to pull a stunt like that. The benches are emptying onto the ice. If Vesey wasn't a sweetheart, he would have gone after Chiasson which could have led to mayhem.

It's pretty angering that you can literally attack players at the end of a game and likely have no consequence. Hopefully DoPS gives him a 1 game. This kind of crap really shouldn't be tolerated.

I do think that penalties at the end of the game should play out for the duration of the penalty.

If you are winning the game you can elect to decline the remainder of the penalty and end the game.  If you are trailing the game should continue until the penalty expires.  You shouldn't get a lesser punishment for taking a penalty in the last minute of a game if your team is winning.

Out here on the East Coast I was asleep before the game even started but as much as I enjoyed watching the highlights you folks posting was even more enjoyable.

Surprised that Smith went after a Leaf instead of his own defenceman that actually hit him in the head.  That would have been MUCH more entertaining.  Also the after curricular stuff is the signs of a frustrated team that EDM announcers declare is the highest scoring in the NHL.

I am seeing Oiler fans who are embarrassed in how the team was acting.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. I'm all for it if I'm the team chasing. I'm certainly not for it if I'm the team that is up by a goal. The last thing I want as a fan is more 3 point games.
