So is Randy allergic to time outs after blowing big leads?

He rarely calls any.

That is the way the game should of been. Toronto did not deserve to be in the this game. Reimer could not hold them in the third. Kessel was bitten by bad luck and a really soft call to give the FLO the win. Karma has bitten them and now we will see how this team deals with it.

Glad I was on the highway travelling back home than getting frustrated watching this game. 16 shots. Another 35+ against. What are they going to do blame it on the turkey? Team is an outright joke.

Yeah, pretty much where I'm at too.

The one "theory" I heard that was at least somewhat conceivable was that the cops fed Jay a bunch of the info in the pre-interview. Apparently at least one of the cops was forced to retire after being found to cook evidence.

It's a stretch, but it's likely the only scenario in which things can be explained and it'll never be proven.

Oh I think there was pretty clearly some shady things going on between the Cops, DA and Jay in terms of sort of grooming him as a witness. I just don't know who that means would have actually killed Hae then and why Jay would know where the car was.

Unless you mean that the cops told Jay where the car was...in which case I don't know why Jay would have gone to the police in the first place.

Ugh. This one sounds like it was a total collapse.

Nah...like most games, the Leafs were outplayed the whole game.  I don't really think that deserves to be considered a collapse. The Panthers chances just started finding the back of the net.

Ok. Glad I had to miss it then

McFate you commented a week or so ago about them being out of the playoffs by a certain day. What was it? Thought you said mid Jan. Think you are bang on if not sooner.

I believe I said end of January.

No character at all... wtf is wrong with this squad

I think the short answer is cockiness and immaturity.

That would explain the reason they play much better when their opponent is sitting at, or near the top in the standings.

So you are expecting a win tomorrow then

Jay kills Hae after she catches him fooling around with Jenn in Adnan's car at the best buy. The DA/cops decide to pin it on Adnan and use Jay as their witness, feeding him the details. Jay goes to the cops because he's paranoid that they are on to him and wants to steer them in the wrong direction.

It's a stretch, but it's pretty much the only scenario in which things could have happened as they did imo.

Of course, I think Adnan did it and Jay was more heavily involved than we know.

Yeah, or at the very least, a much better effort.

"Playing the fundamentals of hockey has been a challenge for our group," Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said. "It's just another example of we played too loose. You can't stop skating, and we stopped skating. We didn't execute with the puck."

"I think it's just one of those things where some pucks got by us in the net ? unfortunately I just wasn't able to see a couple of them, and they wound up in the back of the net," said Reimer, who made 28 saves. "It's a case, from my standpoint, where I want to fight a little harder and smarter on my end to see the puck."

"The majority of the next practice days are going to be on defensive-zone coverage," Carlyle said. "That was our message even before tonight because of the last games that we've played. There's too much freedom in our zone. We're not doing enough pinning. We're not hard to play against in our defensive zone and we've got to become much different."

Ahem, of course.

I believe the Leafs need 25 more wins to make the playoffs.  Anything less and it's a significantly lower odd.

Which they're on pace for based on the first 36 games. Not sure if their schedule is harder in the second half but it seems doable.

I didn't watch nor hear the game, but when news of Bernier being ill came out, was there any suspicion it might be the mumps?

I said mid-January, and, the way they've played recently, the Leafs look like they'll be exceeding my expectations.

Team said it was a "flu-like illness" and also said that he hasn't shown any signs of the mumps. Obviously there will always be some doubt after what happened with Crosby, but so far it sounds like that's not the case.
