I just tuned in. how is the new kid doing. Carter Ashton.  or is it too early to gauge.

Has had 6 shifts and under 5 minutes of play. Why call the kid up when he's going to sit on the pine most of the night.

Kessel reminds me of Jimmy Carson, perimeter player, afraid to get hit.  Hope he turns into a real hockey player soon. I know the kid can score and talented that way. but.....

Has something to do with the leafs only having 1 regular call-up remaining and Ashton would not count as one.

Gunnarson contained Malkin there so beautifully. All Captain Peanut would do there is give Malkin a lame soft cross check on the back and stand there like a pylon.

Huh?  Yes he does.  Waiver status has nothing to do with the post-trade deadline call-up rule (which by the way is quite possibly the dumbest thing ever created)

I really cannot remember the last time they lead going into the third.

Wait..... What does it mean again when the number next to our name is higher then the other teams?

Dreading the malkinator coming alive in the third. Please tell everyone not to hit him and wake the fantasy beast.

Decent period by the Leafs.

If you project this game based on the rest of the season to this point, the Leafs should get at least a point. However, projections can be deceiving.

I honestly think he is head and shoulders our best defenseman.  If he ever finds a way to be more of a 30-35 point defenseman that would be huge given how well he plays in the defensive zone.

Huge to be up a goal going into the 3rd.  The legs are going to start to hurt in the 3rd period, especially when combining the harder skating practices Carlyle put in place + playing Boston last night.

The FAN reported that he was an emergency injury callup. Would that not count?

Agreed! If they want to stay in the playoff race, they need to take care of business, though.

One point behind Buf, three ahead of Carolina. They are tied 2-2 in the 3rd.
