Leafs @ Predators - Mar. 30th, 8:00pm - TSN4, Fan 590

I like the idea of Brown's numbers being "solid" and the other rookies' numbers being "gaudy" as opposed to, you know, better.

That was, uh, "interesting" defending by Gardiner there.

Correction.... Martin and Zaitsev who just watched while Gardiner stuck to Johansen.

Yeah I didn't see that one as being on Gardiner. He had guys to his right, it made way more sense for one of them to take Forsberg.

Yeah. I think he was expecting a backchecking forward to pick him up as Johansen was still a threat.

They were all at fault but Johansen basically was heading into the corner no need for Jake to follow him and Polak with another dumb play. Polak and Gardiner every game brain cramps.

Nope. The shooter was on Gardiner's side of the ice. I don't know why he would cover the guy on the far boards with no angle and leave the guy to walk into the slot.

Solid first 2 periods knew Preds would come on but they sat back and it's biting them. If it wasn't for Andersen we would be lucky to get a point.

It's open to debate of course but IMO it's pretty clear that the Leafs' regular-season MVP is Andersen.  Another solid game, this time coming back from injury.

Because his partner was right next to him. I'm working on the assumption that you'd rather have each defenseman take a guy rather than have Gardiner cover both.

No debate here. He's been great.
