Leafs @ Predators - Nov. 12th, 8:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

With each passing game, you can tell Babcock is doing wonders with what little he has to work with.
Gives me a glimmer of hope. They don't need to get Matthews, as long as they draft well enough, hopefully the new regime can develop a solid team through our systems. Marlies are looking promising, hopefully Nylander can make the jump next season, Marner is on the horizon, could the Leafs be at the start of something good?

I mean, they've got to start exploring trading Reimer, right?

Either that or start tying his laces together during the commercial breaks.  I don't think you can reasonable move forward with either goalie at this point so if one has a strong year, year I would be trading them.

Excellent value right now. Any contenders with an iffy goaltending situation looking for depth?

Can't make it look too obvious.

that was a well earned win.  it felt like it was going to be one of those moral victories but they ended up with the two points.
Yep, I am all for moral victories. I can do without the 2 points this season and next and probably the year after that.

I think they just need to give him a little more time to show his Dubnyk-like resurgence isn't just a short hot streak, and, then, yeah, ship him out to Calgary or wherever.

That would follow the Buffalo model of tanking, trade whoever is playing too well.

Where's Brian Gionta when you need him?

It would be closer to Arizona - trade the impending UFA goalie who's playing well to keep the goalie signed beyond this season who isn't.

When Dubnyk was traded he had a 9-5-2 record and .916 Sv%. Reimer is currently 4-2-3 with a .920 Sv%. So he's not that far off. Problem is Dubnyk was only traded for a 3rd round pick, so it's not like we'd be selling him for riches or anything like that. I'm also not sure there's a team right now that needs a goalie like Minnesota did at the time. Maybe we can kill two birds with one stone and ship him to Columbus?

I was thinking Calgary might still hope they can save their season with some quality goaltending. I wouldn't be expecting much more than a 3rd round pick, either. Maybe another late round pick attached, since Reimer isn't coming off the horrific year that Dubnyk was?
